SHRINKAGE,

Relaxationshrinkagecan occur in knit fabrics that havebeen improperly stretchedand elongatedbythe manufacturer. When this occurs, garment may be pressed back into shapeafter each washand dry cycle.
Progressiveordelayedshrinkageis caused when starch or sizing(in some fabrics)isgradually removedbylaundering. Maybe noticed in older garments that havebeen laundered many timeswithoutpreviousshrinkage. Treat as for RelaxationShrinkageabove.
Shrinkugecausedby overheatingoccurs in certain knit fabrics that have
been heat-shaped. When washing, drying or ironing temperatures exceed the temperatures usedto shape set, shrinkagemay occur. This cannot be corrected, but it can be prevented by washingincoldor warm water; drying on LowHeat/Knits.
