3. Insertacoinintheslot inthe temperaturecontroldial,turnthe dialtothemidpoint,andallowthe freezertooperateforatleast24 hoursbeforeplacingfoodinside.
Temperature Control
Thetemperature controldialis locatedonthe lowerrightsideof thefreezer. Freezingtempera­tureselectionis madebysettingthedialfrom “rein”(warmest)to “max” (coldest).Initiallysetthedialatthe midpoint—thenormalsettingfor safe,long-termfreezing.
Quick-Freezing
Forquick-freezingsmallamounts offood,place itin directcontact withanyrefrigeratedsurface.For quick-freezinglargeamountsof food,turnthecontroldialto “max”andreturnittotheregular settingafterfreezingiscompleted.
Neverfreeze more than 15 pounds of food at one time.
Incaseofextendedpower failure, keepthe freezerlidclosed.If the freezeris outofoperationfor24 hoursor more,place largepieces ofdry iceontopofthefood.If dry iceisnotavailable,movefoodtoa frozenfoodlockertemporarily, untilpoweris restored.

Defrostingcanbedonequicklyand easilybyscrapingfreezingsurfaces witha plasticscraperorwooden
spatulawhenfrostismorethan1/8 inchthick.
Forperiodiccomplete cleaningandfrostremoval
If frostistoothick or toohardto bescraped,wesuggestyoudothe
following:
1. Removepowercordplugfrom
outlet.
2. Removeallfoodfromfreezer, Foodmaybe temporarilystored in1argecorrugatedpaperboxes, insulatedbags,towelsorwrapped innewspaperstopreservecoldness,
3. Removeandsavethe drainplug (1)atthefront ofthefreezer,insert thedraintube(2)suppliedwiththe
freezer,placea containerunderthe tubetocatchthewater,andremove andsavethedrainplug(3)inthe floorofthefreezer.
4. Youmayhastendefrostingby leavingthefreezerlidopenand removinglarge,loosepiecesof frostbeforetheymelt,orbyadding
pansofhotwater.
5. Afterfrostiscompletely removed,rinsetheinsideofthe freezerwithasolutionofwarm waterandbakingsoda(aboutone tablespoonofsodatoeachquartof water).Youmayusemildsoapand warmwater,but followwitha bakingsodasolution.Rinsewith cleanwaterandwipedry.DONOT useharshorgrittycleanersinthe interior.
Warning:Whencleaninginthe vicinityof electricalparts(lamps, switches,controls,etc.) wring excessmoistureoutof spongeor clothsothatit willbe barelydamp to preventwaterorliquid from gettingintoanyelectricalpartand causinga possibleshock hazard.
