* For mostefficient cooling, keep vent(OHmodelsso equipped)in closedposition exceptwhen you wantto exhaust air, smokeor odors fromthe room.
@Don’tlet theroom get too hot. Wheneverpossible, turn the uniton beforetheroom heats up. When heat is “stored up” in walls, furniture, rugsanddraperies, your
air conditionertakes longerto producethe desired comfort condition.
@Keepwindowsand doors closed. Cool, dry air escapes when they’reopen.
~Keepfurnace floor registersand cold air returns closed. Cold air can easily escape through them.

Themoisturethatyouraiiconditioner removesfromthe airdrainstotherear ofthecabinetwhereit ispickedup byafanand dispersed againstthe condenser.Occasionally,morelikely duringstart-up,a “pinging” noise maybeheard. Thisisnormal for a shorttimeinlesshumid areas and longerinvery humidareas. methodofmoistureremovalimproves theoperationalefficiencyofyour air conditioner.
Note: Beforemovingyour air conditioner to another location, turn itoffand wait5 or 10minutes. This will allowthecondensateto drain fromthe coilintothe base pan. Then, keepingafirm grip on
windowand tilttheair conditioner tothe outsidetodrain the water from the base
pan.

lightly dampened with mild liquid dishwashingdetergent. Wash cabinet with mild soap or detergent
and lukewarm water.

Air Filter
The foamair filterbehind the inletgrille shouldbe washedat leastevery 30 daysor as often as itneeds cleaning.
Removethe inletgrille by grasping the~~batthe topofthe grille, pulling out and liftinggrille out.
Place the grille on a flat surface and removethe filter. Washthe filter in hot, soapywater,just as you would a sponge. Squeeiiedry.
Toreinstall the filter, place it on pins located on the back side of the grille.
Toreplace the grille, place the two tabs at the bottom ofthe grille. into slots on the case and -pushthe grille forward.
