bemadeto aproperly grounded two-prong wall receptacle by useof a ULlisted adapter(Fig. 2)available at most local hardwarestores.

The Iargerslot in theadapter must be aligned with the Iargerslot inthe wall receptacle to provide proper polarity in the connection of the power cord.
CAUTiON: Attaching adapter ground terminal to wall receptacle cover screw does not ground the appliance unless cover screw is metal, and not insulated, and wall receptacle is grounded through house wiring. Youshould have the circuit checked by a qualified electrician to makesure the receptacle is properly grounded.
When disconnectingthe power cordfromthe adapter, always hold the adapter with one hand. If this
is not done, the adapter ground terminal is very likely to break with repeated use.
should the adapter ground terminal break, Do NOT USE the appliance until a pruper ground hasagain been established.
m
Becauseof potential safety hazards ur]dercertain conditions,we strongly recommend againstthe useof an extension cord. However, if you still elect to usean extension cord, it is absolutely necessarythat it be a UL listed 3-wire grounding type appliance extension cord and that the current carrying rating of the cord in amperesbe equalto or greater than the branch circuit sizeshown on the rating nameplate of the appliance. Suchextension cords are obtainable through your local service organization.

*HI FAN permits high fan speed
operation without cooling.
*LO FAN permits low fan speed
operation without cooling.
*For fan only operation, Energy

position.
H1COOL permits cooling with high
fan speed operation.
LO COOL permits cooling with low fan speed operation.
Temperature control
Whenyou turn the TEMPEf?ATURE control to the desired setting, the thermostat will automatically controi
the temperature of the indoor air. The higher the number selected, the cooler the indoor air will be.
TheSave EnergyRangeisavisual reminder that you can conserve
energy by selecting a higher room temperature but still keep the room cool and less humid than outside.
ventilation control
The ventdoor inyour airconditioner
isclosed whent~eVENTpushbutton isout and to the left and only the air
inside the room can be circulated and conditioned. Pushingthe VENT button in and sliding it to the right opens the vent door, allowing a
small amount of indoor air to be exhausted from the room.
‘Energy saverswitch
ENERGYSAVER
The ENERGY SAVER switch controls the fan operation. When it’s
in the NORM position, the fan will circulate room air continuously. When it’s in the SAVE position, the fan will automatically cycle on and off with the compressor.
For fan only operation, ENERGY SAVER switch must be in NORM
position.

Moisture removat
The moisture that your air conditioner removes from the air drains to the rearof the cabinet where it is picked up by afan and dispersed againstthe condenser.Occasionally, more likely during start up, a “pinging” noisemaybe heard.Tfiis is normalfor ashort time inlesshumid areasand longer in very humid areas. This method of moisture removal improves the operational
efficiency of your air conditioner. Note: Before moving your aircondi.~
tioner to another location, turn it off and”wait5 or 10minutes. This
will allow the condensateto drain from thecoil intothe basepan. Then, keeping a firm grip on the air conditioner, carefully raisethe window andtilt the air conditioner to the outside to drain the water from the basepan.
Air divectioo
Air direction on the indoor side is through the front grille and out the top, Air flow out the top should not
