Becauseof potential safetyhazards undercertain conditions,westrongly recommendagainstuseofanadapter
plug. However,if youstill elect to use anada~ter,where localcodes permit, iTEMPORARYCONNEcTION may
bemadeto aproperly grounded two-prong wall receptacle by useof a ULlisted adapter(Fig. 2)available at most local hardwarestores.

The Iargerslot in theadapter must be aligned with the Iargerslot inthe wall receptacle to provide proper polarity in the connection of the power cord.
CAUTiON: Attaching adapter ground terminal to wall receptacle cover screw does not ground the appliance unless cover screw is metal, and not insulated, and wall receptacle is grounded through house wiring. Youshould have the circuit checked by a qualified electrician to makesure the recep­tacle is properly grounded.
When disconnectingthe power cordfromthe adapter,always hold the adapter with one hand. If this
is not done, the adapter ground terminal is very likely to break with repeated use.

Becauseof potential safety hazards ur]dercertain conditions,we strongly recommend againstthe useof an extension cord. However, if you still elect to usean extension cord, it is absolutely necessarythat it be a UL listed 3-wire grounding type appli­ance extension cord and that the current carrying rating of the cord in amperesbe equalto or greater than the branch circuit sizeshown on the rating nameplate of the appliance. Suchextension cords are obtain­able through your local service organization.
