Themoisturethatyourairconditioner removesfromtheairdrainstotherear ofthe cabinetwhere itispicked up byafananddispersedagainstthe condenser.Occasionally,morelikely during start-up, a “pinging” noise maybe heard, This isnormal for a shorttime in lesshumid areas and longerinvery humid areas. This methodofmoistureremovalimproves theoperationalefficiencyof your air conditioner.
Note: Beforemovingyour air conditioner toanother location, turn itoffand wait5 or 10minutes. This willallowthe condensateto drain from thecoil intothe base pan. Then, keepinga firm grip on theair conditioner, carefullyraisethe windowand tiltthe air conditioner totheoutsidetodrain thewater from the
basepan. .

Air Filter
The foam air filterbehindthe inletgrille shouldbe washedat
leastevery 30 daysor asoftenas

Removethe ii~letgrille bygrasping thetab at the top oftilegriiie,pulling out anti iifting griiie out.
Place the grille on a fiat surface and removethe filter. JVashthe filter in hot, soapywater,just as you would a sponge. Squeeze dry.
Toreinstall the filter, place iton pins located on the back side of the grille.
Toreplace the grille, place the two tabs at the bottom of -tl~egrille into slotson tilecase and push the grille forward.
