COOL Mode
Use the COOLmode widl HIGH(F3), MED (F2)or LOW (F1) fan for cooling. Use the INCREASE •/
DECREASEV pads to set the desired temperature between 64°F and 86°F in 1°F increments.
A thermostat is used to maintain the room
temperature. 'i11e compressor will cycle on and off to keep the room at the set level of comfort. Set the
thermostat at a lower number and the indoor air
will become cooler. Set the thermostat at a higher
number and the indoor air will Ix-come ,a-armen
NOTE:If theair conditioneris off andis then tumed on
whileset to COOL,ff will take approximately3minutes for the compressortostart and coolingto begin.
FAN Mode
Use the FAN at HIGH (F3),MED (F2)or LOW (F1)to provide air circula6on and filtering without cooling.
Since fan only" settings do not provide cooling, a temperature setting will not be displayed.

Vent Control (on some models)

OutdoorCoils
_12qecoils on the outdoor side of the air conditioner should be checked regularly. If they are clogged
with dirt or soot, they may be professionally
steam cleaned, a service available through your GE service outlet.
NOTES:
_ Use 2 "_" (1.5 volt) batteries. Do not use
rechargeahle batteries.
_ Remove the hatleries from the remote control if
the system is not going to Ix- used for a long time.
To clean, use water and a mild detergent. Do not use bleach or abrasives.
AirFilter
The air filter behind the front grille should be checked and cleaned at least every"30 days or
more often if necessary. Clean the filter with warm, soapy water: Rinse and
let the filter dry before replacing it.
CAUTION:DONOToperatetheairconditionerwithout a filterbecausedirt andlintwill clogitandreduce
performance.

width and stick the adhesive side to the
bottom of the sash.

the bottom mounting rail against its back edge. Center it and close the window
securely behind the mp mounting rail. It should be level or slightly tilted to the
outside. Use a level; about a 1/3 bubble
will be the correct case slant to the outside.
] Extend the left and right accordion panels to
the vertical window sashes and attach with 4 type B screws. Attach the top mounting rail
to the sash with a )'pe B screw.

NOTE:Drill pilot holes, if necessary, for proper installation. If the frame is oversized, use shims
toprevent case distortion.
Finish the Wall Opening
Caulk all four sides on the outdoor side of the case to prevent moisture fi'om getting through to the interior wall. Use of flashing (drip rail) will further prevent water fi-om dripping inside the wall and
down the outside of the building.

Troubleshooting tips: Save time and money! Review the chart below first and you may not need to call for service.
