14 gauge, 3-wire gwounding type appliance extension cord having a grounding type plug and outlet and that tile electrical rating of tile cord be 15 amperes (minimum) and 125 volts.

Vent Control (on some models)
The vent control is located on 1he inside of the air
louvens in the lower light corner.
When set at CtOSE, only-the air inside 1he room will
be circulated and conditioned. When _t at OPEN, some inside air isexhattsted outside.
Air Direction - Side-to-Side
On some models, the side-lo-side air direction is adjusted by Ille louver levers or by gPasping and moving the inner vertical louvers.

Grille and Case
Turn the air conditioner off and remove the plug To clean, use water and a mild detergent. Do not from the wall outlet before cleaning, use bleach or abrasives.

The air filter behind the front _ille should be checked and cleaned at least every 30 (lays o1"more
often if necessaly.
Clean Ihe filter with walrn, soapy water. Rinse and let the filter dry before replacing it.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
For personal safety, this air conditioner must be properly grounded.
It is important to have the wall outlet and circuit checked by a qualified electrician if there is any doubt as to whether a proper ground exists.
Follow National Electric Codes (NEC)and/or local
codes and ordinances.

Window Requirements
These insu'uctions are for a stand_d double-
hung window. You will need to modify them for other types of windows.
The air conditioner can be installed without
the accordion panels if needed to fit in a nan'ow
window. See the window opening dimensions
below.

Prepare the Air Conditioner

rail seal strip and attach it to the bottom of d,e top mounting rail.

screws fl'om the outside of flle case.

Install the Air Conditioner in the Window
] Cut the window sash seal to the window
width and stick the adhesive side to the bottom of the sash.

] Place the air conditioner on the stool with
the bottom mounting rail against its back edge. Center it and close the window
securely behind the top mounting rail. It should be level or slightly- tilted to the
outside. Use a level; about a 1/3 bubble will be the correct case slant to the outside.
] Extend the left and light accordion panels
to the vertical window sashes and attach
with 4 type B screws. Attach the top mounting rail to the sash with a 1ype
B screw.

with 12 1" long # 10 wood screws.
NOTE:Drill pilot holes, if necessary, for proper installation. If the frame is oversized, use shims
to prevent case distortion.
