Because of potential safety

local codes permit, a TEMPORARY

The larger slot in the adapter must be aligned with the larger slot in the wall outlet to provide proper polarity in the connection of the power cord.
CAUTION: Attaching adapter
ground terminal to wall outlet cover screw does not ground the appliance unless cover screw is metal, and not insulated, and wall outlet is grounded through house wiring. Youshould have the circuit checked by a qualified electrician to make sure the outlet isproperly
grounded.
use ofexteRRsion Cords
Because of potential safety hazards under certain conditions,
westrongly recommend againstthe
use of an extension cord. However, ifyou stillelect to use an extension cord, it is absolutely necessary that it be a LTLlisted 3-wiregrounding type appliance extension cord and that the current carrying rating of the cord in amperes be equal to or greater than the branch circuit size shown on the rating name plate of
the appliance. Suchextension cords are obtainable through your local service organization,

OFF turns air conditioner off.
FANONY permits fan operation
without cooling.
HIGH COOL permits cooling with high fan speed operation.
LOW COOL permits cooling and maximum dehumidification with
low fan speed operation.
Temperature control
When you turn TE~ERATURE control, the thermostat willautomatically control the temperature of the indoor air.Turn the knob clockwise for a cooler room. Turn
it counterclockwise for a higher room temperature.
The Save Energy Range isa visual
reminder that you can conserve energy by selecting a higher room temperature but still keep the room
cool and lesshumid than outside.

1. Push the HIGH COOL button.
2. Set TEMPERATURE control at desired position (usuallythe midpoint isagood starting position). If
roomtemperature is not satisfactory after a reasonable time, turn the temperature control clockwise for
a cooler room or counterclockwise fora warmer room.
Forextremetelmperfitures
For greatest economyand best performance, wesuggestyoualways select HIGH COOL operation in extremely hot weather.
TAB
For maximum cooling
1. Push the HIGH COOL button.
2. Turn TEMPERATURE control all the way to the right.
3. Set AIR EXCHANGER control at “VENT CLOSED’ position.
ForqaEieteroperation
1. Push the LOW COOL button.
2. Set TEMPERATURE control at desired position.
3. Set AIR EXCHANGER control at “VENT CLOSED” position.
Fornighttime operation
During the cooler evening hours, it isrecommended that you push the
LOW COOL button for very quiet operation and set the TEMPERATURE control at mid-range.
Forventilation
Whether controls are set for coolingor fan operation only, settingthe Air Exchanger control at “VENT OPEN” lets room air be exhausted to the outside. This ishelpful in removing stale air, smoke or odors from the room, and permitsoutdoor air to enter through normal open-
ingsin the house. However, cooling effectiveness isreduced when this control isset at “VENT OPEN;’ so we suggest yoLidon’t keep it there long–especially in hot, humid weather.

The louvers are controlled by a tab that letsyou position the louvers to discharge air to the left, to the right, or straight ahead.
