OPERATING
INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance is intended for household use only. Use on Alternating
Current (50/60 hertz) only. Standard
Dryers are designed to operate at 110
to 125 volts A.C.
This appliance has a polarized plug
(one blade is wider than the other).
As a safety feature, this plug will fit in
a polarized outlet only one way. If the
plug does not fit fully in the outlet,
reverse the plug. If it still does not fit,
contact a qualified electrician. Do not
attempt to defeat this safety feature.
IMPORTANT

Use of this dryer on the same circuit
or fuse with other electrical products
or appliances may trip a 15 amp circuit breaker or blow a 15 amp fuse.
NEVER replace the fuse with one
rated higher than the capacity of the
circuit. Doing so could result in an

ACCIDENTALLY FALLS IN WATER
PLEASE NOTE: When the electrical
elements of the hair dryer come in
contact with water, the Protection
Plus® Plug is designed to shut down
immediately.
1. Be sure to unplug the hair dryer.
2. Remove from water. Once the
appliance is removed from water, it
should be returned to the place of

Remember: Do not use the hair dryer

WHY DO YOU NEED
THE EXTRA PROTECTION OF
THE PROTECTION PLUS® IF
YOUR HOME HAS G.F.C.I.?
The Protection Plus® Plug ser ves as a
supplement to ground fault circuit
interrupters. It is designed to work in
situations where a G.F.C.I. device will
not work.
In general, G.F.C.I. protects the consumer against hazardous electrical
shock that may be caused if his or her
body becomes a path through which
electricity travels to reach ground. It is
therefore important to have a G.F.C.I.
in the home.
The Protection Plus® Plug hair dryer
provides an extra margin of safety.
The exclusive water sensing system
works in conjunction with the G.F.C.I.
to sense when the electrical parts of
the hair dryer come in contact with
water and to cut off the flow of electricity. This feature is of particular
importance in ungrounded situations.
Should the dryer go
off and the Protection
Plus® Plug reset button pop up during

use, this could indi-

cate a malfunction in
the dryer. Remove plug from outlet
and allow the dryer to cool. Push in
reset button and reinsert plug into
outlet. Dryer should function normally. If not, return to the place of purchase for exchange.
SUPER STYLING GUIDE
Your best looks begin with a good
haircut that’s well maintained. Always
treat hair right with superior quality
shampoos, conditioners, and finishing products.
DRYING BASICS
1. Shampoo and condition hair with
products of your choice. Rinse thoroughly. Towel blot hair to remove
excess moisture. Section hair. Using
the dryer along with a styling br ush,
direct hot air through one section of
hair at a time. Move dryer steadily
across each section so that the hot air
passes through hair. Direct air flow at
hair, not scalp.
2. Keep dryer’s air intake vents unobstructed and free from hair while
drying.
3. To avoid overdrying, do not concentrate heat on any one section for
any length of time. Keep dryer moving as you style.
4. For quick touch-ups between shampoos, dampen hair with a mist of
water before styling with the dryer.
5. When using your dryer to create
curls and waves, dry hair almost completely on a warmer temperature setting, then finish styling with Cool Shot
feature to close hair shaft and lock
in style.
HIGH-SPEED DRYING
The special high-speed air diffuser is
aerodynamically designed to direct air
more efficiently, while its “fingers” lift
layered hair for ultra-quick texturizing
and styling. Start lifting hair at the
roots with the “fingers” and work your
way down each section of hair, letting
the high-speed diffuser dr y the layers
underneath.
BODY & VOLUME
To create extra volume, turn head
upside down while drying. Position
the airflow toward the roots for maximum lift. When hair is dry, toss head
back and brush hair into place.
STRAIGHTENING
Work with hair in sections when creating a super straight look. Using a
large round brush (approximately 2”
diameter), hold hair taut in each section and bend ends slightly under as
you dry.
MAKING WAVES
Tousled, natural-looking waves are
easily created by grasping hair at the
roots and scrunching between fingertips while drying.

USER
MAINTENANCE
Your dryer is virtually maintenancefree. No lubrication is needed. For
proper operating performance, the
dryer must be kept clean. To make
cleaning easier, your GE Professional
Dryer has a hinged filter cap and a
mesh insert. To clean the air intake
opening, unplug your dryer. Simply
pop open the filter cap and take out
the mesh insert. Now you can easily
shake or rinse the dust and lint from
the mesh insert. After the insert is
clean and dry, re-insert it into the filter and snap the filter cap closed. For
your convenience, a second mesh insert is included, should the original
one ever get lost or become damaged.
The outer surface of the dr yer should
be wiped clean with a damp cloth only.
Blocked or clogged air intake vents
will cause the dryer to overheat. If
overheating occurs, an automatic safety device will shut the dryer or the
heat off to prevent damage or personal injury. If the unit or the heat cycles
off, unplug the cord and allow the
dryer to cool for 10 to 15 minutes
before restarting. Make sure the air
vents are clean.
CAUTION
NEVER allow the power supply cord
to be pulled, twisted, or severely bent.
Never wrap the cord tightly around
the dryer. Damage will occur at the
high flex point of entry into the dryer,
causing it to rupture and short. Inspect
the cord frequently for damage. Stop
use immediately if damage is visible or
unit stops or operates intermittently.
If the cord or dryer is damaged or
does not operate properly , return it to
place of purchase for exchange. No
repairs should be attempted by the
consumer.
STORAGE - Important
When not in use, your dryer should
be disconnected and stored in a safe,
dry location, out of reach of children.
Do not wrap line cord around dryer.
Allow the cord to hang or lie loose
and straight at the point of entry into
the dryer.

months against defects in material or
workmanship. To obtain service
under this warranty, your first option
is to return the defective product,

EXCELENTE
Usted se verá de lo mejor con un corte
bien mantenido. Siempre trate bien su
cabello con champú, suavizantes y productos de acabado de calidad superior.
TÉCNICAS BÁSICAS DEL SECADO
1. Lávese el cabello con el champú y
suavizante de su preferencia.
Enjuáguelo bien. Seque el cabello lo
más posible con una toalla. Separe el
cabello en secciones. Use la secadora y
cepillo para peinado y seque una sección de cabello a la vez. Mueva la secadora a lo largo de cada sección de cabello
para que el aire pase con rapidez por el
cabello. Dirija el aire hacia el cabello y
no el cuero cabelludo.
2. No se deben obstruir las entradas de
aire de la secadora ni permitir que el
cabello las tape.
3. Para evitar secar demasiado el cabello, no concentre el calor en una sola
área por mucho tiempo. Mantenga su
secadora en movimiento a medida que
se peina.
4. Para hacerse retoques entre lavado y
lavado, rocíese el cabello con agua
para que se humedezca.
5. Cuando use su secadora para crear
rizos y ondas, seque el cabello casi por
completo con un nivel de calor más

CÓMO LACIAR EL CABELLO
Separe el cabello en secciones para
lograr un estilo bien lacio. Use un
cepillo redondo grande (de aproximadamente 5cm (2”) de diámetro).
Mantenga el cabello tenso en cada
sección y dirija las puntas ligeramente
hacia dentro mientras las seca.
CÓMO ONDULAR EL CABELLO
El estilo de cabello suelto y ondulado
se logra con facilidad al tomar el cabello por las raíces y estrujarlo mientras se
lo seca.

MANTENIMIENTO
QUE DEBE DAR
EL USUARIO
Su secadora prácticamente no necesita mantenimiento. No es necesario
lubricarla. Para un funcionamiento
óptimo, la secadora se debe mantener
limpia. Para facilitar su limpieza, su
secadora profesional de GE tiene una
tapa abatible y una malla inserta. Para
limpiar la entrada de aire, desenchufe
la secadora. Retire la tapa y saque la
malla. Ahora puede sacudir o enjuagar el polvo de la malla con facilidad.
Una vez que la malla esté limpia y
seca, colóquela en el filtro y vuelva a
poner la tapa. Para su conveniencia,
hemos incluido una segunda malla,
en caso de que la malla original se
pierda o dañe. El exterior de la
secadora se debe limpiar sólo con un
paño húmedo.
Si las entradas de aire se tapan harán
que la secadora se sobrecaliente. Si
esto sucede, un dispositivo de seguridad automático apagará la secadora o
el calor para evitar daños o lesiones al
usuario. Si la unidad o el calor se apagan, desenchufe el cordón y permita
que la secadora se enfríe por 10 a 15
minutos antes de volverla a encender.
Asegúrese que las entradas de aire
estén limpias.
PRECAUCIÓN
NUNCA permita que se jale o tuerza
el cordón. Nunca enrolle el cordón
alrededor del aparato. El daño ocurrirá en el punto de flexibilidad máximo, que es el punto de entrada a la
secadora, y causará la ruptura y un
cortocircuito. Revise el cordón con
frecuencia para determinar si hay
daños. Deje de usar el aparato de
inmediato si hay daños visibles o si la
unidad deja de funcionar o funciona

Si el cordón o la secadora están dañados o no funcionan correctamente,
llévela al lugar donde la adquirió para

ALMACENAMIENTO - Importante
Cuando no está en uso, la secadora se
debe desconectar y almacenar en un
lugar seguro, seco y fuera del alcance
de los niños. No enrolle el cordón
alrededor del aparato. Cuelgue el
cordón o déjelo suelto y recto en el
punto de entrada a la secadora.
