3. Device installation
When installing the device the following must be ensured:

4. Hazard warnings
4.1 Hazard warnings Deep Fat Fryer
The deep fat fryer must not be operated without fat or oil. When level is below lowest limit this can constitute a risk of fire. Do not remove heater during operation!
Feeding food in too large quantities or in a too wet condition increases the foaming of the oil and reduces the quality!
In case of fat or oil fire use device lid for fire fighting. If device is burning cover fryer immediately with lid! Switch off main switch, remove main plug!
-->> Do NOT use water to extinguish oil or fat fire!
Applicable equipment must be available for fighting oil or fat fire: e.g. fire extinguisher, stationary extinguishing facilities (Halon fire extinguisher).
Do not move deep fat fryer while hot oil or fat is in reservoir or receiver tank and do not remove receiver tank when containing hot oil or fat. Allow oil or fat to cool down to min 60°C.
Used, contaminated oil/fat is highly inflammable and favours foaming.
Refilling of cold oil/fat to hot oil/fat is dangerous. Risk of spraying and burning.

4.2 Hazard warnings pasta cooker
The pasta cooker must not be operated without water.
Do not move pasta cooker in heated condition! Do not remove receiver tank when changing the water until water has cooled down to room temperature (max 60°C).

- Switch off device by setting On/Off knob to 0

5. Oil filtering (deep fat fryer)
Filtering the oil from time to time can increase the lifetime of the oil by filtering off small particles by means of a microfilter.

6. Safety thermostat (deep fat fryer)
In case of failure of the thermoregulator and the oil/fat overheats or if the oil level is too low the safety thermostat will activate at 230°C and automatically stop the heater.
The reset button is located below the control element (refer to drawing 7.1 with reset button). Press this button to reset the safety thermostat. If the safety thermostat switches off continuously please call service!

7. Cleaning
- Switch off device by setting On/Off knob to 0
- open drain valve and drain oil to external reservoir For fryer: Do not dispose off used oil via sewer lines but dispose off properly! For pasta cooker: drain used water to sink
Clean the tank by boiling water with fat-solvent detergent and deliming agent in the device. Do not exceed max oil level when filling water.

- lift heating element
- remove dirt using brush
- discharge waste water to empty receiver tank
- rinse carefully and dry
- do not use water jet to clean device
- replace heating element in device
- dry wet mains plugs before reusing them, if required
- the device is now ready-to-use again
Do not clean device in dishwasher
All steel sheets are made of stainless steel and can be treated with a commercial chrome steel cleaner.

7.1 Dishwasher cleaning
- switch device off by setting On/Off knob to 0°C
- disconnect mains plug
- allow heating element to cool, raise and remove
- lift inserted tank to remove from enclosure Only tank and enclosure are dishwasher-proof; do not place heating element with control box in dishwasher!
- when refitting ensure that heater is positioned correctly and safety switch clicked into place

8. Operation
Intended use of device: deep frying of food (exclusively).
Operability:
- ensure that the available voltage corresponds with the performance plate of the device and the fusing is enough!
- open device with lid on top and remove basket attached to the back of the device
- remove basket
- close drain valve: horizontal position = closed (vertical position = open)
- fryer: fill oil until level mark
- pasta cooker: fill reservoir with water
The device is now ready for use again. Attention: Operation must always be supervised.

Deep frying (fryer):
-press On/Off button
- set thermostat to required temperature
- red indicator lamp flashes
- when lamp stops flashing the selected temperature is reached
- place food in basket. Fill to ¼
- for frozen food shake off well before immersing
- place basket in frying reservoir
- once the food reached desired brownness raise basket and hang
Attention:
Operation of the fryer must always be supervised. When refilling oil during operation refill cold frying medium slowly and carefully in order to avoid risk of spraying and burning. Used and contaminated oil is highly inflammable and favours foaming.

Cooking (pasta cooker):
- press On/Off button
- set thermostat to required temperature
- red indicator lamp flashes
- when lamp stops flashing the selected temperature is reached
- place food in basket or serving cup
- place basket in boiling tank
- once the desired cooking time is reached raise basket and hang on hanger for draining
Attention:
Operation of the pasta cooker must always be supervised. Refilling of water during operation must be made slowly and carefully in order to avoid risk of spraying and burning.

9. Customer service, maintenance
In case of operation failures contact GASTROFRIT AG in Rorschach (0800 823 825 free hotline for Switzerland). Leave all repairing and connection works to qualified staff.
Note (for repairing service with Gastrofrit training only): Isolate all circuits before accessing terminals.
Important: Please always state device type and device number (door inside) when calling the service facility. We recommend writing down the type and number below.

9.1Potential troubles
To avoid fault indications, before calling for a technician, check if:
- fuse of electric connection leads are intact
- plug is connected
- the main switch on the device or external is switched on
- the device was started correctly
- the safety thermostat is activated
- the temperature sensor broke off (alarm)
- the device does not contain oil/water or not enough oil/water
- the device is not switched off
