OverviewIntroduction
1 – Introduction
Overview
The FleetCor Dual Network Special Card Handler and some configuration changes allow a
CFN II or CFN III to support the features listed below . This special card handler requires CFN
II/Islander II or CFN III to operate. Gasboy Island Card Readers (ICRs) require Stargate
version 4.2K or higher.
The following are the features of the FleetCor Dual Network Special Card Handler:
• Host-controlled Personal Identification Numbers (PINs)
• Floating PINs (multiple PINs assigned to the same card)
• Host-controlled product authorization
• Host-controlled quantity restrictions
• Host-controlled third party cards (Visa®, Mastercard®, T-Chek, Gascard/CFN dual card)
• Host-controlled messages to user
Note: After installing the software, the participant should contact the FleetCor Network help
desk. The help desk should verify that the site(s) is set up for custom PINs and T-Chek
acceptance, the correct site number is used, and the site 99 password is set correctly, if
needed. Also, the help desk should verify if the transactions are being processed
properly and that product control is working.
When a card is swiped, the special handler identifies the card as a T-Chek or Gascard/CFN
dual card that is handled by the host site protocol.
Host-Site Communication Enhancements
• Extended site transaction authorization request response.
• Configuration - New system configuration parameters will be added to enable extended
site authorization requests.
• Vehicle field and issuer fields will be appended to the end of the request message if the
site is configured to use extended authorization.
Extended Host Transaction Authorization
• Authorization code - An optional 2-digit authorization code field may be included in th e
host transaction authorization message.
• If a card contains an authorization code, that code will be checked before the transaction is
sent to the host for authorization. The authorization code returned from the host will be
checked later, but it must pass the encoded authorization code check first. If the product
authorization length is set to 0 in SYS_PAR the product will not be authorized before it is
sent to the host.
• Price Level - An optional 2-digit price level field may be included in the host transaction
authorization message.

IntroductionRelated Documents
• This field is not implemented at this time and is not necessary for this application. The
field must be filled with two non-numeric characters if the new card field is used.
• Product mask - An optional 26 hex character (104 bits) field may be included in the
authorization message. The first bit will represent product number 1, the second bit
represents product number 2 and so on, through product 99. 0 indicates that the
corresponding product is not allowed, and 1 indicates it is allowed. Bits 100-104 are not
used at this time.
• Alternate card image - An optional, variable length (0-37 digits) card data field with a ','
termination may be appended to the end of the host transaction authorization message.
• All optional data preceding the optional authorization field must be included.

Receipt Masking
All cards handled as a credit tender, including FuelmanSM Plus and Gascard Access, will be
masked with only the last four digits appearing on the receipt. With site version V034M and
above, the CFN Dual Card receipt masking can be modified to meet the customer
requirements better. It is possible to print any four contiguous numbers in the card data by
configuring TRFMT and setting a value in sys_par on page 12. Refer to MDE-4316 CFN
Series CFN III Configuration Manual for Windows NT

System Log Card Masking
The system log will mask all cards except lo cally authorized Club cards. All cards identified as
a credit tender, including Fleet cards, will be fully masked, except for the first two and the last
four digits of the account. Remotely authorized Club cards, such as the Dual card, will be
masked according to the TRFMT configuration. An exception is for a Dual card that is
processed locally for authorization in Fallback mode. A locally authorized Dual card will not
be masked on the log.
Note: Account data will not be masked on the logger print-out if a type-29 CARD field is used.
Only type-2 account fields can be masked.
Refer to MDE-4316 CFN Series CFN III Configuration Manual for Windows NT for more
information on configuring the transaction format for the system log.
Using Alter Utility
Refer to C35923 Point of Sale and Shift Change for using the Alter Utility to setup Shift and
Day Reports.
To use Fuelman Plus and Gascard Access with CFN FleetCor on Shift and Day Reports,
accept the payment types "Fuelman FltCor" and "Gascard FltCor". These two cards are set up
as a Club tender with the FleetCor host system. Do not accept the card descriptions "Fuelman
Plus" and "Gascard Access", as these cards are set up as a Credit tender and are utilized by
other host systems.
