Before you start
• Construct the base before assembling the greenhouse.
• The base must stand on a firm level surface:
• If mounted on earth, ensure the soil is level and well compacted to prevent shrinkage. Secure the base using the ground anchors provided. These need to be set into pockets of concrete which must be allowed to set so that the base is secure, before mounting the greenhouse.
• The base can be mounted on slabs provided they are level and are firmly laid.
•A concrete pad can be used: ensure that it slopes away from buildings to prevent water damage.
To ols and equipment:
• 10mm spanner. • Spirit level. • Tape measure. • Cement and ballast if using fixing pockets.
• Drill, masonry bits screws and plugs for securing to a wall and if securing to slabs or a concrete pad (not supplied).
SECTION 1 Assembly:
• Bolt the corner joints (H2) to the frame sections as shown taking care not to overtighten. Fig A & Fig C.
• Lay the base in position and check with a spirit level that it is level all round, adjusting as necessary.
SECTION 2 Securing the Base to a wall:
• There is no base section against the wall so it is important to
ensure that the front and back widths are identical. Fig B.
• Carefully mark the hole positions on the wall and drill and
plug before securing the corner joint with rust-proof screws.
Fig C.
• Check that the base is square before securing the front corners
to the ground. This is easily done by measuring the diagonals:
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx• these will be the same length when the base is square.
SECTION 3 Securing the Base on soil:
• Dig holes for concrete pockets. These should be deeper than the length of the
ground anchors and need to be positioned at each corner and adjacent to each
greenhouse upright, except the wall uprights.
• Ensure the pegs (H4) are inserted into the concrete pockets at an angle, as
xxxxxxxxxxxxx• shown. Fig D.
SECTION 4 Securing the Base on Concrete or slabs:
• Drill through the base frame as illustrated. Fig E.
• Drill and plug the concrete or slab, ensuring that the holes are made far
enough away from the edges to prevent splitting.
SECTION 5 Mounting the greenhouse: Fig F.
• Wait until all concrete is fully set before mounting the greenhouse
on the base.
• Apply the clips at each corner and adjacent to both greenhouse
front uprights.
• Undo the nuts and hook clips (H3) under base rim and over
the bolts before re-attaching and tightening the nuts.
• Check that the greenhouse is firmly secured and all nuts
are tightened.
