This is the translation of the original German User’s Manual.

Please read the User’s Manual carefully and comply with them.
Use this User’s Manual to familiarise yourself with the pump, its
proper use and the safety instructions.

1. Where to use your GARDENA Fountain Pump set

The GARDENA Garden Spring Pump is intended for domestic use
for supplying water to springs and gargoyles. It is not designed
for operating watering equipment and accessories or irrigation
systems. The pump can be used both indoors and outdoors.

The GARDENA Garden Spring Pump is not suitable for
continuous operation in industrial applications. Corrosive,
easily combustible, aggressive or explosive substances
(such as gasoline, petroleum or nitro thinners), or saltwater
must not be pumped, nor must foodstuffs or drinking water.

Please note

Intended Use:

For safety reasons, children under 16 as well as persons not
familiar with this User’s Manual must not use this pump.
Persons with reduced physical or mental abilities may use
the product only if they are supervised or instructed by
a responsible person.

The pump must not be operated when there
are people in the water.

Swimming pools and garden ponds should
be designed according to international and
national design regulations.

v Please consult a professional electrician.
Before operating the pump, look to see if there

is any damage to the pump (esp. regarding
power cable and plug).

The connection cable of the pump cannot be
replaced. If the cable is damaged the pump
must be scrapped.

Do not use the power cable to carry the pump
or to pull the plug out of the socket.

Protect the power cable from heat, oil and
sharp edges.

User instructions:

Never let the pump run dry; running dry
generates heat and will damage the pump.

The temperature of the liquid used must not
be below 4 °C or above 35 °C.

Sand and other abrasive substances in the
liquid cause increased wear and reduce the
output of the pump.

Please observe the local noise prevention
regulations.

3. Initial Operation

1. Screw the stepped nipple 1on to the pump outlet 2.

2. Connect the stepped nipple 1to the spring / gargoyle with
a hose (

1

⁄2” or 3⁄4”).

3. Install the pump at ground level so that the filter housing 3is
standing in water to at least half its height.

4. Insert the pump plug into a mains socket.

Caution: The pump will start immediately.

5. Use the flow control 4to set the desired water flow for the
spring / gargoyle.

anticlockwise and pull it vertically off the

motor housing 6(bayonet socket).

3. Depending on the pumping application, the pump inlet can
be rotated in 90° steps. Twist the pump inlet 5accordingly,
again press it vertically on to motor housing 6and tighten it
clockwise (see 5. Cleaning).

5. Connect the pump inlet 5to the water reservoir with a hose
(1⁄2” or 3⁄4”). The level in the water reservoir must be highert-

han the pump inlet 5.

6. Connect the pump outlet

to the spring / gargoyle with a

hose (1⁄2” or 3⁄4”).

7. Fill the hose to the pump inlet

with water.

8. Insert the pump plug into a mains socket.

Caution: The pump will start immediately.

DANGER ! Electric shock !
v Always disconnect the pump

from the mains before under­taking any work on it.

The pump should be operated via a residual
current device with a residual current rating of
≤ 30 mA (DIN VDE 0100-702 and 0100-738). The
pump must be placed on solid, even ground.

v Please ask your electrician for his advice.
Mains power cables should not have a smaller

cross-section than a rubber sheathed cable
of the designation H05 RN-F3G0,75.
Extension cables must meet the requirements
of DIN VDE 0620. Check line voltage.
Data indicated on the type plate must match
technical data of the mains supply.

Please unplug the pump after operation and
before carrying out any maintenance works.

4. Storing your Garden Spring Pump

1. Before the frosty season begins, take the pump out of the pond
and clean it.

2. To avoid difficulties when starting up in the spring, we recom­mend storing the pump in a frost-free location in a container
filled with water. The mains plug must not be submerged.

The product must not be added to normal household waste.
It must be disposed of properly.

5. Cleaning

Cleaning the pump: 1. Remove the filter housing 3from the motor housing 6, and

clean it.

2. Turn the pump inlet 5anticlockwise and pull it vertically off the
motor housing 6(bayonet socket).

3. Take the impeller 8out of the motor housing 6and clean it.

4. Push the cleaned impeller 8back into the motor housing 6.

5. Push the pump inlet 5vertically on to the motor housing

and tighten it clockwise. (If the pump is to suck from under­neath, the thread must face downwards).

6. Push the filter housing 3back on to the motor housing 6.

9. Service / Guarantee

GARDENA guarantees this product for 3 years (from date of

purchase). This guarantee covers all serious defects of the unit

that can be proved to be material or manufacturing faults.

Under warranty we will either replace the unit or repair it free of

charge if the following conditions apply:

• The unit must have been handled properly and in keeping with

the requirements of the User’s Manual.

• Neither the purchaser or a non-authorised third party have
attempted to repair the unit.

The feed impeller is a wearing part and is not covered by the
warranty.

This manufacturer’s guarantee does not affect the user’s existing
warranty claims against the dealer/ seller.

If you have any problems with your Fountain Pump Set,
please contact our Service or return the defective unit together
with a short description of the problem – in case of guarantee,
with a copy of the receipt – postage paid to one of the
GARDENA Service Centres listed on the back of this leaflet.

we are not liable for any damage caused by our units if it is due to
improper repair or if parts exchanged are not original GARDENA parts
or parts approved by us, and, if the repairs were not carried out by
a GARDENA Service Centre or an authorised specialist. The same applies
to spare parts and accessories.
