Product information
It is with great pride we introduce the new GamuT Phi Series.
The Phi series is based on the technologies that were developed for the GamuT L-series loudspeakers with a few new ideas and solutions added.
The Phi3, Phi5, Phi7, Phi-LcR and the upcoming Phi Sub all use exclusive and proprietary technologies developed by GamuT to establish a new standard for audio performance in their price range.
Driver Technology:
For the Phi series a completely new range of bass and treble drive units has been designed that optimize the dynamic accuracy, increase the resolution of details, and minimize/control resonances.
Tweeter Details:
- Optimized directivity wave guide in stainless steel
- Die cast front plate for reduced resonance, and optimized
acoustic coupling
- Optimized low distortion magnet system
Woofer Details:
- New long throw low loss suspension, for more bass output
and better dynamics
- Wood fibre cone material for optimal resonance control
- Optimized machined centre wave guide for higher transpa-
rency and lower coloration
- Dynamic stability magnet system with low distortion mag
netic pole design and aluminium ring inserts for optimum dynamic stability.

Crossover Technology:
A proprietary NRLi crossover technology is used for all models to assure unsurpassed transparency, dynamic contrast and the most accurate 3D-imaging possible.
The 3-way Phi5 and Phi7 use our breakthrough DC coupled Midrange network design in combination with our Acoustic Coupled Driver technology for increased bass output and extreme transparency.
Acoustic technology:
As in all GamuT speakers, a special and unique acoustic damping material placement is used to ensure optimum dynamic accuracy and detailing, the lowest possible acoustic resonance and maximum internal acoustic control.
The Phi series are were designed for the ultimate result in reproduction accuracy. This requires that the mechanical and electrical parameters of the drivers are perfectly optimized to the acoustic volume and that the trimming of the reflex port openings is no less than perfect to obtain the best possible impulse response.
Design & Cabinetry:
Besides their beautiful appearance the Phi’s cabinets are designed for optimum resonance control and quality. This is achieved by using high quality real wood veneer on high pressure MDF, multiple internal bracings and an external Resonance Control Groove, which combined keeps the coloration from the cabinet at a minimum. Another important new design feature is the “Auto Aligning Feet” that assures optimum control and coupling to the surrounding elements.
