Yoke Bracket Four ¼”-20 Screws Four Rubber Washers Four Flat Washers Safety Cable Safety Cable Clamp Two Ferrules (cable crimps)
DESCRIPTION:
This Galaxy Audio Yoke Bracket is used for permanently mounting LA4 speaker cabinets to walls or ceilings. The mounting angle can be selected by choosing the appropriate screw holes in the yoke. These brackets should be used only on a secure and stable surface.
PRECAUTIONS:
Whenever an object is affixed to a wall or ceiling, you must take special care to mount it securely to prevent it from falling and causing damage or injury. MOUNTING SURFACES: Carefully examine the composition, construction and strength of the surface you are mounting to. Be sure to provide adequate reinforcement should you deem it necessary. You must also consider what type of hardware and what types of mounting techniques are appropriate for each mounting surface. FASTENERS: Attaching the bracket requires fasteners selected for the strength and composition of the mounting surfaces involved. Whatever fastener is selected, it should be no smaller than a 1/4" screw or bolt. When drilling pilot holes be sure that the holes are smaller than the core diameter of the screw. Always use fasteners in all mounting holes and avoid over tightening, as this can weaken the mounting surface, damage the fasteners, and make the installation much less secure. SECONDARY SUPPORT: As we recommend the use of a secondary support for added safety, each yoke bracket is equipped with a safety cable. When properly installed it provides secondary support without inhibiting the adjustment of the bracket, and can be easily hidden out of sight.

MOUNTING PROCEDURE:
PREVIEW: After evaluating the mounting surfaces and obtaining the appropriate fasteners, the installation will consist of the following steps, in order:
1. Mounting the yoke bracket to the wall or ceiling.
2. Joining the cabinet with the bracket assembly.
4. Installing the safety cable. TOOLS REQUIRED: You will need at least these tools for installation: #3 Phillips Screwdriver Large Crimping Pliers Tools to secure the fasteners selected for the wall/ceiling mounting (drill, screwdrivers, etc.) Carpenter's Level for precise positioning of the speaker. (Optional)
Note: It is often helpful to have another person available to hold the speaker in place during the tightening procedure.
INSTALLATION:
ATTACHING THE YOKE TO THE MOUNTING SURFACE:
Note: First choose the tilt angle holes in the yoke to determine if the yoke will be mounted to the wall upside-down or not. (See Joining Cabinet to Yoke section.)
Position the yoke bracket onto the wall or ceiling at the location you have selected, preferably to a stud, joist or other structural member rather than only to drywall or other non-structural material. Make sure there will be enough clearance to tilt the speaker to the desired angle. Using the yoke as a template, mark the four hole locations.
NOTE: Check that any holes you drill and the fasteners will not interfere with any wiring, plumbing, etc. that may be behind the mounting surface.
Prepare the mounting surface and the four holes for the fasteners. Pull speaker wires through the mounting surface and feed thru the center hole in the bracket (if applicable). Secure the yoke to the wall. Do not over tighten fasteners! JOINING THE CABINET TO THE YOKE:
1. Remove the four plastic threaded inserts, from the left and right sides of the center of the cabinet, with a small flat blade screwdriver. (See photo below)

2. Select the appropriate holes in the yoke for the tilt angle desired. Available angles are: 90 degrees (level), 10 degrees or 15 degrees of tilt. (See photo below.) The yoke may be mounted to the wall upside-down or not, to provide upward or downward tilting at both angles.

3. Place the flat washers on the four ¼”-20 screws and insert them into the desired yoke holes. Place one rubber washer on each screw, inside the yoke, just enough to hold the screws in place. (See photo below.) This will also keep the rubber washers in place when sliding the cabinet into the yoke.

4. Thread the safety cable through one of the ferrules and then through the included cable clamp. Loop the cable back through the ferrule and crimp firmly with a large pair of crimping pliers. Remove one of the back panel screws from the LA4 cabinet and secure the cable clamp to that location using the original screw. (See photo below.) Do not attach the other end of the cable until the cabinet has been mounted to the yoke.

5. Lift and slide the speaker into position so that the screws at the ends of the yoke line up with the T-nuts in the cabinet. It may be helpful to have a second person assist with these steps.
Note: You may need to make audio cable connections to the rear of the cabinet before the cabinet is slid fully into the yoke.
6. Push the four screws into the T-nut holes in the cabinet and tighten with a Phillips screwdriver.
SECURING THE SAFETY CABLE: Thread the loose end of the safety cable through a ferrule and then through the cable hole provided on the yoke. Loop the cable back through the ferrule and crimp firmly with a large pair of crimping pliers. (See photo below.) Position the safety cable so it does not come in contact with any of the audio connectors on the cabinet.

Note: This yoke bracket may also be used to attach the LA4 to stage/theatre rigging pipes by attaching an appropriate “C” clamp to the ½” hole in the center of the yoke’s back plate. Please follow all pertinent safety procedures when installing the unit in this manner, including the appropriate safety cable attachment to rigging pipes.
