General Information
This kit contains a print ed circui t board assembly (P CBA) to be used in the following
GAI-Tronics Emergency p hones :
293-101 293-101AL 294-101AL 297-101 298-101
Installation
Models 293-101, 293- 101AL, and 294-101A L
Removing the Old PCBA
CAUTION
1. Use the Model 233-001 Tamper-Resistant Screwdriver to loosen the four front panel screws.
2. Disconnect the microphone, speaker, LED indic ator, keypad (Model 294-101AL only), external power
supply connector, and switc h c able(s ) from the P CBA. R ec ord the location of ea c h c onnec tion for later
reconnection.
Disconnect the phone line.
3. Disconnect the r ed and green wires from the telep hone line connect ion on the PC BA. Save the modular
cord.
4. Unscrew the four corner screws from the PCBA. Save the screws, and discard the PCBA.

Installing the New PCBA
1. Align the holes in the four corners of the new PCBA with the st andoffs in the telephone, ma intaining
proper or ientation. See Fi gure 1.
2. Use t h e screws ( from step 4 in the previous sect i on ) to secu re th e PC B A.
3. Reconnect the red (ring) and green (tip) telephone wires to the PCBA.
4. Reconnect the microphone, speaker, L ED indica tor, keypad ( Model 294-101AL only), external power
supply connector, and switc h c able(s ) to the b oard.
5. Use the Model 233-001 Tamper-Resistant Screwdriver to tighten the four front panel screws.
