This appliance is only intended to be fully fitted in a
kitchen. Observe the special installation instructions.
This appliance must be installed according to the
installation instructions included.

in transport.

Escapinggas may cause an explosion.
If yousmell gas or notice any faults in the gas
installation:
Immediately shutoff thegas supply.
Immediately extinguish all nakedflames and
cigarettes.
Do notturn on or turn offany lightor appliance
switches anddonot pull any plugs outof
sockets.Donot use any telephones or mobile
phones within the building.
Open windows andventilate the room.
Call theafter-sales service or thegas supplier.
Warning -Riskofasphyxiation!
The use of a gascookerleads to a build-up of heat,
moisture andproductsofcombustion in theroom
where theappliance is installed.Ensure that the
installation room is well ventilated. The natural
ventilation openings must be kept open or a
mechanical ventilation device must be provided (e.g.
an extractor hood). Intensive andpersistent use of the
appliance may mean that it is necessarytohave
additional ventilation (e.g. openingawindow),ormore
effective ventilation(e.g. operatingthe existing
mechanical ventilation device at a higher setting).

extractor hood mayignite. Only operate thegas
burners with cookware on them.
If the burner does notignite after15seconds,
switchoff thecontrol knob and open thedoor or
window in the room.Wait at least1minute

The appliance becomes hotduringoperation.
Allowthe appliance to cool down before
cleaning.
The hotplates andsurroundingarea(particularly
the hobsurround, if fitted) become very hot.
Never touch thehot surfaces. Keepchildren at a
safe distance.
The accessibleparts become very hotwhen in
operation.Never touch hotparts.Keepchildren
at a safedistance.
When the appliance cover is closed,heatwill
accumulate.Only closethe appliance cover
when theappliance has cooled down. Never
switchthe appliance on with the appliance cover
closed. Do notrestfoodonthe appliance cover
or use it to keep food warm.
Empty cookware becomesextremely hotwhen
set on a gashotplatethatis in operation. Never
heat up emptycookware.
Warning -Riskoffire!
Hotoil andfat can ignite very quickly. Never
leave hotfat or oil unattended.Never use water
to putout burning oil or fat. Switch offthe
hotplate. Extinguish flames carefully usingalid,
fire blanket or something similar.
The hotplatesbecome very hot. Never place
combustible items on the hob. Never place
objects on the hob.
The appliance becomes very hotand flammable
materials couldcatch fire.Never storeor use
flammable objects (e.g.spray cans, cleaning
agents) underthe appliance or in its immediate
vicinity. Never place flammableitems on or in the
appliance.
When gashot platesare in operation without
any cookware placedonthem, they can buildup
a lotofheat. The appliance and the extractor

trainedbyus. If the appliance is faulty, unplug
the mains plug or switch offthe fuse in thefuse

sales service.
Faults or damage to theapplianceare
dangerous.Never switch on a faulty appliance.
Unplugthe appliance from the mains or switch
offthe circuitbreaker in the fuse box. Shut off
the gassupply. Contactthe after-sales service.
Unsuitable pansizes, damagedor incorrectly
positionedpans can cause serious injury.
Observe theinstructions which accompany the
cookware.

Incorrectrepairsare dangerous.
Repairsmay only be carriedout by one of our
trainedregisteredgas installers.Ifthe appliance
is faulty, unplug themains plug or switch offthe

The cableinsulation on electrical appliances may
melt when touchinghot parts of theappliance.
Never bringelectrical appliance cables into
contact with hotparts of the appliance.
Do notuse any high-pressure cleaners or steam
cleaners, which can resultin an electric shock.
Adefective appliance maycause electric shock.
Never switchonadefective appliance. Unplug
the appliance from the mains or switchoff the

- Risk of heat damage to adjacent appliances or
kitchen units: If theappliance is in operation for an
extended period,heat andmoisture will be generated.
Additional ventilation is required.Openthe window or
switch on an extractor hood that discharges the
extractedair andmoistureoutsidethe building.
- Risk of damage to the appliance due to the build-
up of heat: Do notheat roasters, fryingpans or grill
stones usingmore than oneburneratatime.
- Malfunction: Always turn thecontrol knob to the"Off"
position when theappliance is notbeing used.

Saving energy
Choose a burner of roughly thesamesizeasyour
pan. Place thecookwareinthe middle.
Use small saucepansfor small quantities. Using a
large saucepan withlittle in it consumes a lot of
energy.
Always placesuitable lids on saucepans.Cooking
without a lid consumes significantly more energy.Use
a glass lid so that youcan seeintothe panwithout
having to lift thelid.
Cook with only alittle water.This will saveenergy and
preserve thevitamins andminerals in vegetables.
Switchto alower heat settingingoodtime.This will
saveenergy.

Individual parts of the wok burner
Ensure that theindividual parts of thewok burner are fitted
in thecorrect positionand arestraight;otherwise,this may
result in ignitionproblems or problems duringoperation.Fit
theburner head such that thethermocoupleispositioned
in thecorresponding recess on theburner head.The lugon
theburner ringmust engage in thecorresponding recess
on theburner head.
Note: If theburnerpartsare fitted at an angle, the
appliance will not work.

Notes
- Only usethe accessories specified.Donot line the
stainless steel recess(e.g. withaluminium foil).
- Theburnerand ignition plug must be cleanand dry.
- Only light thehotplatesif thepan supports andall
burner partsare correctly fitted.
- Do not touchthe ignitionplugwhile thegas
appliance is beinglit.
- It is important to keep theappliance clean. lf the
ignitionplugs aredirty,this may causeignition
problems.Cleanthe ignitionplugs regularly witha
small, non-metallicbrush.Takecare to preventthe
ignitionplugs from sufferingany heavy knocks.
- Whenyou cook usingawok, placethe wok ring onto
thepan support over thewok burner.Makesurethat
thewok is stable on thewok ring when you are
cooking.
- Do not coverthe ventilationopenings on therear of
thegas hob. Lack of ventilationwill result in damage
to thehob.
- Whenthe gas cooktop is switched on,the electronics
open up thegas supply, whichproduces ashort
sound. This is normal.
- In theevent of a powerfailure,the appliance will not
work.The gassupplyis shut off.
Switching on
Your gashob has an automaticquick-ignitionfunction.
1. Placeasuitable item of cookwareonthe pansupport.
2. Push in thecontrol knob andturnitclockwise or anti-
clockwisetothe heat settingyou require.
Theburnerignites automatically.
Simmer setting
With thesimmer setting, theburnerswitchesthe gas flame
on andoff.Thisallows youtomelt chocolateor heat up
delicatesauces, for example.
Turn thecontrol knob to .It takes 10-50seconds to
switch on or off.
Electronic flame monitoring and
automatic re-ignition
For your safety, thehob hasanelectronicflamemonitoring
system. If theflamegoes outwhile thehob is in use(e.g.
dueto adraught), theappliance will automatically re-ignite
theburner.
If re-ignitionis unsuccessful (e.g.because liquidor food
has boiled over andremainsonthe burner), theappliance
will switch off thegas supply. Theilluminatedringbehind
thecontrol knob will flash.
Turn thecontrol knob to 0. Wait until theappliance is cool
enough andthencheck whetherall theburnerpartsare in
thecorrect position. Check whether theburneror the
ignitionplugare coveredinfoodremnants etc. "Trouble

Switching off
Turn thecontrol knob to position 0. Theappliance
electronics will shut off thegas supply.
Warning – Risk of burns!
Whenthe appliancecover (optional accessory)isclosed,
heat will accumulate.Only closethe appliance coverwhen
theappliance has cooled down.Never switch theappliance
on with theappliance cover closed.Do not rest food on the
appliance coveroruse it to keep food warm.
Residual heat indicator
Theluminousdisc behind thecontrol knob flashes after
switchingoff,to indicate that theappliance hasstill not
cooled down to such an extent that it canbetouched
safely.
Turn thecontrol knob to setthe heat setting.
Warning – Risk of deflagration!
If theburner does not ignite after 15 seconds, switch off
thecontrol knob andopenthe door or window in theroom.
Wait at least 1minutebeforeignitingthe burner again.
Safety shut-off
For your safety, theappliance has asafetyshut-off function.
Theapplianceis automatically switched offif it hasbeenin
operationfor an extended period.How long theappliance
waits before switching itself offdepends on thesetting
(setting 12 =1hour,setting 1=4hours). Theilluminated
ringbehindthe control knob will flash orange andwhite
alternately.
Turn thecontrol knob to 0. Youwill nowbeabletostart the
appliance againasusual.

only on thetype andconditionofthe food,but also thesize
andcontents of thepot.
Dueto thehighperformance of thecooktop,fat andoil will
heat up quickly. Neverleave thecooktop unattended, fat
canignite, food canburn.
Tips for using a wok
Note: When youcook usingawok,place thewok ring onto
thepan support over thewok burner.Makesurethatthe
wok is stable on thewok ring when you arecooking.
We recommendusing woks withadomedbase.You can
order ahigh-quality wok as an optional accessory (WP 400
001).
Whencooking withthe wok,use only cookingoil that is
suitable forheating to high temperatures,suchas
groundnut oil.
Cook theingredients at a high heat,while stirring
constantly.Donot cook them for too long.The vegetables
should be al dente.
For stirringthe food andfor takingit out of thepan,itis
best to useashallow ladle withalong handle made from a
heat-resistant material.

Thefollowinginformation andtips have been provided to
help you saveenergy andavoid damaging your
cookware.

Pans with a diameter of less than 160mm or more
than 320 mm should not be used. If youdouse larger
pans,these should notprotrude beyond theedges of the
appliance.

Usepots or pans which are theright sizefor each burner. Do not usesmall pots or pans on large burners. Theflameshould not touch thesides of the pot.
Do not usedamaged pots or pans,which do not sit evenly on the cooktop, they maytip over. Only usepots or pans withathick, flat base.
Do not cook without usingalid andmake sure thelid is properly fitted. This wastes energy.
Always centre thepot or panover theburner, otherwise it could tip over. Do not placelarge pots on theburners near the control knobs. These may getdamaged by the high temperatures.
Placethe pots or pans on thepan support, never directly on the burner. Makesurethat thepan supports andburner caps arecorrectly positionedbeforeusing theappliance.
Pots or pans should be placed on thecooktop carefully. Do not strikethe cooktop anddo notplace excessiveweightonit.
Do not heat a cooking vessel (e.g.roaster, pan, grill stone)onmorethan one burner at thesame time. Theresultingheat accumulationwill damage theappliance.
