FUNCTIONS
Overall Function Description
The Auto Hang Up Box will allow the phone line to remain open to calls even
when the handset is not properly set down, or in the case of cordless handset,
switched off. Without the Auto Hang Up Box, the phone line would remain busy,
and unable to receive incoming calls.
How it works
The Auto Hang Up Box has a series of pre-set detectors that activate when the
other party hangs up after a phone call.
Auto Hang Up Ti mer Se ttings
As a failsafe measure, there are an additional 4 adjustable timer settings.
These settings will allow the unit to release the line and allow incoming calls
after: 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 60 minutes, or unlimited.
The adjustable timer settings are set using 2 dip switches found inside the
compartment at the back of the unit (See diagram below).
OPERATIONS
When the handset is not properly set down, or in the case of a cordless
handset, switche d off, the Auto Hang Up Box, will sound for a period of 20
seconds, and 3 green LED’s will light up underneath the red LED lens. If you
hear the 20 second tone, or see the 3 green LED’s on, you should properly
hang up the handset. Even if you fail to hear/see the warning, the box will still
disconnect the phone from the line, allowing the line to receive incoming calls.
When a new incoming call is received, only the box will ring (as long the ringer
switch is on) and the 4 red LED”S will flash.
Answering an incoming call
When the box is ringing, and you pick up the handset that was not properly set
down, or in the case of a cordless handset, switched off, you must properly set
down the handset int o its cradle, or proper ly s wit ch off the cordless ha nd set,
prompting the phone/cordless handset to ring. To accept the call, simply pick
up the handset again or push the talk key on a cordless handset.
