Port Replicator
User’s Guide
INSTRUCTIONS
The port replicator extends the functionality
of your LifeBook® T Series Tablet PC by
providing ports to connect an external VGA
monitor, a LAN (RJ-45) cable, four USB 2.0
devices, a DVI device, speaker/headphones,
and DC power.
The port replicator connects to the bottom/
rear of your LifeBook Tablet PC.
BACK PANEL COMPONENTS
The following is a brief description of the
port replicator’s back panel components.
(Figure 1)
USB 2.0 Ports
The four USB 2.0 ports allow you to connect
USB devices such as game pads, pointing
devices, and keyboards. USB 2.0 is downward-compatible with USB 1.1 devices, so
older USB devices will work with these
ports. USB 2.0 runs 40X faster than USB 1.1.

External DVI Port
The external Digital Video Interface (DVI)
port allows you to connect an external digital
flat-panel monitor or projector, providing a
pure digital video signal for digital monitors.
External Monitor Port
The external monitor port allows you to
connect an external monitor. Note that if a
port replicator is attached, you must use the
external monitor port on the port replicator.
LAN (RJ-45) Jack
The LAN jack allows you to connect a LAN
to the port replicator. Note that when the
system is attached to the port replicator, the
LAN Jack on the port replicator should be
used, not the one on the system.
Line Out Jack
The line out jack is used for connecting an
external speaker or headphones. Note that
line out does not provide power, so the
speaker must be externally powered.
DC Power Jack
The DC power jack allows you to plug in the
AC adapter to power the tablet and charge
the internal Lithium ion battery.
Security Lock Slot
The security lock slot allows you to attach an
optional physical lock down device.
