3) BIOS Loc k needs a s upervisor/ user pas sword to access
BIOS setup. B IOS sett ings can be configured to pro mpt for

Access to B IOS setup is needed to c onfigure Hard Dis k Lock.
Hard Disk Lock requires an acc ess key to retrieve data on
the ha rd disk. This is a Data Con fidentiality security feature.
LifeBoo k Lock requires a super visor/user pas sword to bootup
the LifeB ook when it powe rs up or resume s last session from
suspend /hibernate mod e. Th is is an anti- theft feature with
more than 8 00,000 passwor d combinations u sing the button s
on the Qu ick La unch Pan el. Anti -theft Lock S lot allow s the
use of a lock to physically se cure the LifeBook. Smar tcard slot
usage is dependent on custome r’s solutio n. Fingerpr int sensor
uses AuthenTec TruePrint™ Technolog y and Softex OmniPass
to remember customer list of user IDs and pa sswords. Full
securit y unlock s equence - L ifeBook Loc k, Bootup L ock
(BIOS Lock), Hard Disk Lock, Fingerp rint W indows Logon.
NOTE: Loss of pas sword requires the Life Book to be returned
to Japan fac tory for system refres h. Cost of shipment an d lost
data will be b orne by the customer. Bac kup your user’s profile
before changing HDD. Wi thout th e user’s profile associated
with a d ocument at th e point of enc ryption, Sof tex OmniPass
cannot de crypt the encr ypted document .
