• Depending upon the configuration of your
battery charger, it may or may not come
with an AC Adapter. If it comes with an AC
Adapter, be sure to use only that adapter
with the battery charger. If it does not come
with an AC Adapter, use only the system AC
adapter (UL Listed, Class 2 AC adapter with
output rating of 16V dc, minimum 2.5A).
• This charger is designed only for charging
Fujitsu Lithium ion battery packs that have
the proper mating connector. If you have
questions, check your system User’s Guide
or our accessories Web site to ensure that
you are using the correct charger.
Charge Indicator LEDs
The Charge Indicators show the condition of the battery being
charged. Table 1 on page 3 shows the LED color and its relation to
the charging status.
Battery Connector 1
Battery connector 1 is used to connect a battery to the charger.
Battery Connector 2
Battery connector 2 is used to connect a battery to the charger.
AC Adapter Connector
The AC Adapter Connector is used to connect power to the battery
charger via the AC adapter.

BATTERY CHARGER OPERATION
The Power Indicator LED is on when the battery charger is
connected to a plugged-in AC adapter. The two Charge Indicator
LEDs show the charging status of the battery connected to the
charger or the condition of the charger itself, as shown in Table 1.
Charge Indicator Charging Condition
Flashes orange Standing by for charging
Steady orange Charging
Steady green Charging is complete
Steady red Battery failure
Flashing red Charger failure
No light Battery not connected
Table 1. Indicator Status
• If the charger detects that something is
wrong with the battery, the Charging Indicator LED will turn a steady red. If this happens, immediately remove the battery from
the charger.
• If the battery charger detects a failure in its
charging circuit, the Charging Indicator LED
will blink red. If this happens, immediately
disconnect the AC adapter and remove the
battery from the charger.

The following items can affect the battery charger’s performance:
• After a battery has been charging for a period (as noted below),
the battery charger will stop charging (regardless of the charge
level) and the Charge Indicator LED will turn green. This is a
safety feature to prevent damage to the battery
.
Battery Capacity Charging Time
Less than 2500 mAh 5 hours
2500 mAh to 4100 mAh 8 hours
Over 4100 mAh 12 hours
• When a battery has been left unused for a long time, it will take
longer to charge.
• When the ambient temperature is low, it will take longer to
charge a battery.
• If the temperature of a battery connected to the charger is
extremely high or low, the battery charger will standby for charging until the battery returns to normal temperature. This is a
safety feature designed to prevent damage to the battery.
USING THE BATTERY CHARGER
To charge a battery, follow these steps:
1. Before connecting, see the Information box on page 2
regarding AC adapter useage.
2. Connect the battery charger to the AC adapter.
3. Plug the AC adapter into an AC outlet.
(Figure 2).
4. The Power Indicator LED will light up and the Charging Indicator LED(s) will flash orange once.
5. When the Charging Indicator LED(s) turns off, align the plastic
key pin of the battery connector with the corresponding guide
in the battery socket. Be very careful to align the battery and
charger properly. (Figure 3)
