2. Operator panel
Several messages are shown on the LCD display.
Status of the printer is indicated through the LED indicator.
Form out means the end of the coupon stock, when blinking it means that the ribbon has fewer
than 150 coupon prints left.
Error
means error, please refer to the message describing the error on the LCD display.
means the printer is working on line.
Ready
Receive
means the printer is receiving data from the host computer
Transmit means the printer is sending a response to the host computer.
Key functions for the operator.
1. ON/OFF
key is used for changing On line to Off line and the reverse.
2. RST key means reset an abnormal condition on the printer.
3. To clean the magnetic head, please push keys “ ON / OFF” and then “ 1 “.
This coupled key usage puts the printer into Cleaning mode.
Please insert the cleaning card into the front insertion slot in the cleaning mode
4.Pushing “ 4 ” show the software version on the LCD display.
※Other keys are used for maintenance.
Buzzer
Buzzer indicates Stacker Full, Ribbon End, Jam Error, other hardware errors and communication data error.

How to load a ribbon and couponstock
1. Opening and Closing the printer door (Cover)
To release, pull up the two lock levers and open the cover. After closing the door remember to lock by pushing down the
levers.
2. Replacing the ribbon
When Ribbon End message appears, please replace the ribbon cassette.
1. Turn the clamp to release the ribbon.
2. Pull out the old ribbon.
3. Take up the slack in the ribbon tape by turning the bobbin in the direction of the arrow.
4. Slide in the Ribbon Cassette on the rail and put Ribbon Tape under the print head.
Turn the clamp to fit the hollow on the cassette in order to lock the ribbon.
3. Installing coupon stock
Green coupons are placed in the Center Bin 3 and Rear Bin 1. The Blank coupon is placed in the Front Bin2.
Please lead the Green coupon in the rear bin into the Top Slot of the printer
The Green coupons in the center bin are led into the middle slot on the printer.
The Blank coupon in the front bin is led into the bottom slot.
The printer feeds the coupon automatically by detecting the inserted coupons.
4. To switch print mode between “Direct thermal print” and “Thermal transfer (with ribbon) print”

To change the mode to thermal transfer (with Ribbon)
1) Power off printer.
2) Load a ribbon and power on.
3) When you can see the message on the panel, please push the RST key without removing the ribbon.
-To change the mode to direct thermal printing
1) Power off printer.
2) Removes ribbon and then power on.
3) When you can see the following message on the panel, push RST key without installing a ribbon.
5. Ready to accept
Printer is on ready to accept data from a server when the LCD displays a message “ Ready to accept”
approximately 30 seconds after turning the power on.

Cleaning
It is essential to regularly clean the printer in order to keep it in good operating condition.
Cleaning object Cleaning period or timing Note
1 Magnetic head When a ribbon is replaced, or if many
voided encode errors have occurred.
2 Print head If the printing becomes smeared by dust
on the print head.
3 Paper dust If a lot of dust was observed in a paper
path.
How to clean the magnetic head
1.To cleaning magnetic head, please push keys “ ON / OFF” and then “ 1 “ while on-line.
This coupled key usage puts the printer into Cleaning mode.
2.Please insert the cleaning card into the insertion slot. The card is fed into and ejected.
3.Please pull the ejected card out. The mode switches to on-line automatically.
How to clean print head
1. Please remove the ribbon after opening the printer door.
2. Clean the print surface of head with the top of the “cleaner’” and wipe it with a clean cloth.
Also clean the ribbon guide shaft.
*The moistened top of the cleaner can lift the dust from the head and shaft.
*The surface to be cleaned is shown with circles in the photograph.
*Please inspect the surface from under the head.
3.Please install the ribbon again and close printer door. Printer turns to initial on-line mode

How to clean paper dust
Use a vacuum cleaner to clean paper dust on the paper path.
The magnetic head needs to be cleaned to remove
grease and dust which will accumulate during
usage.
A dusty environment or a very old ribbon may carry
dust onto the head.
Over time paper dust will accumulate and need to
be removed.

1. Environment for installation

2. Cables
Power cable and communication cable have to be provided as these are not supplied with the printer.
1. The cord is specified in VDE 0281, or CENELEC HD21 S2 in Europe,
also specified in UL or CSA in America.
Normal voltage 250V-AC - 10A is needed for the cable code in Germany.
Normal voltage 115V-AC - 10A are needed for the cable code in USA.
2. The connector for a device is specified in German standard VDE 0625 or
European standard EN60320
3. The plug is specified in VDE 0620, also CEE IEC884-1
The plug should be selected according to the local standard in the country
of installation.
4. Cable length of 3 m is recommended.

4. Unpacking and checking the attachments.

Please remove the wrapping and each tape shown below in the figures after opening the box.
Please check that the following are enclosed:
After installing the printer please keep the FDD and Guide according to individual customer policies.

5. Mounting F9811 printer
Printer and Secure Bin are installed as illustrated below.
1. Change metal plate on the bottom of the printer to the new plate supplied and fix it with supplied screws.
Refer to photos A and B.
2. Slide the printer into a hook of the bin and fit the rear of the printer with the bin. Photo C and D.
3. Screw the printer to the bin with the two wing head screws. Photo D.
4. Clamp a power cable and communication cable to the printer.

6. Assembling Pedestal and Bin-feeder
Printer, Bin feeder and Pedestal are assembled through four steps as following

Mount the bin feeder on the assembled pedestal
Fix them with four screws after facing
in front and right face. Refer to photo 4 and 5

Printer and Secure Bin are set up as below order

7.Adjusting the volume of the buzzer and adjusting the contrast on the LCD display.
These are adjusted using the controls recessed as shown.
If necessary, please adjust them with a small screwdriver.
The LCD Contrast is adjusted with the right control.
This may be done any time after power on.
The Beep sound is adjusted with left control.
Please perform the “buzzer test” and adjustment
using the diagnostic function, Test No.=05, PAN No.=04.

8. Installing the printer firmware
The firmware is pre-installed in factory. It is not necessary to install it during the installation of the printer.
If the version is revised, please install the new firmware using the following procedure;
1. Turn the power switch OFF .
2. Put the installation floppy disk into the disk drive and close the door.
3. Turn the power switch ON.
BIOS will be started and several messages will appeare on the display.
Please wait for the beep of buzzer.
4. Push the key “ ON / OFF” on the keypad when you hear the beep. The key is on top right.
This message will be
Displayed.
Note: If you fail to push the ”ON/OFF” key after the beep, the firmware will progress to “ ready to accept ---“
In this case, please try again after turning the power switch off.
5. Push the key “ 1 “after the above message is displayed.
Note: At first Flash ROM is erased, and then the program is written to the erased Flash ROM..
Message will switch to “Erasing flash ROM” and then “ Installing ----“. Please wait approximately 10 seconds.
Please wait for the Message “ ----- PD03, PD05 etc”. This means the BIOS is started.
Note: The BIOS starts automatically without any operator intervention after finishing writing the Flash ROM.
6. Turn the power switch OFF when you find out the message “ ----- PD03, PD05 etc”.
7. Remove the Floppy disk and close the door.
8. Turn the power switch O N. Installed firmware will be started.
After finishing the boot, the display will show “ready to accept “ or “communication lost” if printer is not connected to
the server.
9. Please check the firmware version displayed on the LCD to ensure it is same as the one of the label of Floppy disk.
Push “ 4 ” in online mode to display the Firmware version on the LCD as in the following example.

Trouble Shooting
1. Reading the ERROR LOG from system memory.
1) Push key "ON/OFF" to turn to mode "OFF LINE". LCD display shows “OFF LINE”.
2) Push key "TST" in order to show the memorized ERROR LOG.
Message will be displayed as
Time and Error Code are shown on LCD
Push key "ENT" to show details of the LOG.
Message will be displayed as
3) Push key "+/-" to scroll the LCD display to show older ERROR LOG.
Push key “TST” to scroll backward to show younger ERROR LOG.
4) When the scroll has reached the oldest error LOG, the following message is shown.
Repeating pushing the key “+/-“ will return to the top.
5) To finish the function: Push “ON/OFF” to finish the function and show “Ready to accept / ticket…”
on the LCD (return to ON LINE mode).
2.. Adjusting the system clock (to adjust it to local time).
F9811 Printer has an internal clock. Error codes are stored in memory time stamped.
1a) Turn the power switch on.
BIOS will be started and several messages will appear on the display.
Please wait for the beep of buzzer.
1b) Push the key “ON/OFF” on the keypad when you first hear the beep. Message will be displayed follows;
1c) Push the key “3” after above message. (Just 3 not 1 and 2).
1d) The LCD will display the clock and date to be adjusted as below.
1e) Push numeric keys (0 - 9) in order to input each value of local time and date correctly.
1f) Push the key “ENT”, to register the local time. Message is displayed as follows;
1g) When you push the key “1” , the message is displayed as follows.
1h) Push the key “1” again. Printer is started automatically and returns to On-line mode.
3. Should an unexpected error occur,
2a) Turn the power switch on.
BIOS will be started and several messages will be displayed on the LCD.
Please wait for the beep of buzzer.
2b) Unexpectedly, the message is shown as same as(D06) on LCD.
2c) If the system clock is incorrect, input correct values and set the system clock as described in 1E to 1H.
2d) If the system clock is correct, register the system clock as above.
