4Gbit/s FC I/O Module
This chapter explains the features and specifications of this product.
1.1 Overview
This product is a Fibre Channel expansion board for use exclusively with BX620 S3 and BX620 S4 server blades. This product is configured with one dual port (2 ports) Fibre Channel controller, it is supplied to connect to external storage Fibre Channels. Use only the FC Switch Blade connected to network blade slots 3 or network blade slots 4 (NET 3 or NET4) to access the external storage. The following diagram shows a configuration example with 5 BX620 S3 server blades (slot 1-5) and BX620 S4 server blades (slots 6-10) installed in a BX600 S3 chassis. In this example, in order to explain the Fibre Channel connection between each 4Gbit/s FC I/O Module and network blade, a 4Gbit/s FC I/O Module is installed in all server blades, it is not necessary to install a 4Gbit/s FC I/O Module in every server blade.
