How to use the reticle
(1) The vertical scale (reticle) visible through the left half of the binocular, above the compass display, allows you to calculate to an object if you know its height, or to calculate the height of an object if you its distance from you.
(2) Each mark on the vertical scale has a value of 5 MIL (1 MIL is equivalent to an angle that can determine an object one meter in height at a distance of 1000 meters). Therefore, if a navigation chart gives the height of an object, by sighting on it and counting the number of MILs, you can determine how far away it is. Here are the two formulas:
To measure distance when the height si known:
X 1000 (m) = Distance in meters
Object height (m) Scale Reading
To mesure object height when the distance is kown:
X 1000 (m) = Object height in meters
Distance (m) Scale Reading 1000

How to use the binocular
(1)Adjusting the interpupillary distance Look through the eyepieces with your eyes lightly touching the eyecups. The interpupillary distance can be adjusted to your individual distance between the eyes so that you can use the binoculars in the optimal state at any time.
(2) Adjusting the focus
In the event that the user has normal eyesight, distant objects are clearly visible
when the diopter scale is set to 0. Users who are near or farsighted, in either or both eyes, should adjust each eyepiece until each eye sees a sharp, perfectly focused distant image. Most people will find that the vision in each of their eyes is not exactly the same. Individual eyepiece focusing compensates for that.
After exposure to saltwater or spray,
flush the binocular thoroughly with fresh water and wipe dry. Avoid extended exposure to bright sunlight.
