When using electrical appliances, basic precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock and injury to persons, including the following:
1. Fully r ead through the operation and assembly instr uctions before operating the heater. Be sure to keep this m anual in a safe place for future refer ence. If you pass the heater on, pass on the instructions too.
2. This heater is designed for outdoor use only.
3. Confirm that the supply voltage indicated on the rating plate of the heater corresponds to the local voltage before you connect the heater. The power supply to the heater should correspond to the relevant regulations of the power supply c ompanies and the regional constructor regulations.
4. This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns do not let bare skin touch hot surfaces. If provided, use handles when moving this heater. Keep combustible materials, such as furnitur e, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes and curtains at least 3 feet (0.9m) from the front of the heater and keep them away from the si des and rear.
5. Extreme caution is necessary when any heater is used by or near children or invalids and whenever the heater is left operating and unattended.
6. Always unplug heater when not in use.
7. Do not operate any heater with a damaged cord or plug or after the heater malfunctions, or has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Return heater to authorized service facil ity for examination, electri cal or mechanical adjustm ent, or repair.
8. This heater is not intended for use in bathrooms, laundry areas and similar i ndoor locations. Never locate heater where it may fall into a bathtub or other water container.
9. Do not run cord under carpeting. Do not cover cord with throw r ugs, runners or similar coverings. Ar range cord away from traffic area and where it wil l not be tripped over. Do not let the cord hang over edge of a table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
10. To disconnect heater, turn controls to off, then remove plug from outlet.
11. Remove the plug from the power outlet and wait until the heater is sufficiently cooled off before cleaning.
12. Connect to properly grounded outlets only.
13. Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as this may cause an electric shock or fire, or damage the heater.
14. To prevent a possible fire, do not block air intakes or exhaust in any manner. Do not use on soft surfaces, lik e a bed, where openings may become block ed.
15. A heater has hot and arcing or sparking parts inside. Do not use it in areas where gasoline, paint or flammable l iquids are used or stored.
16. Use this heater only as descri bed in this manual. Any other use not recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire, electri c shock or injury to persons.
17 Always plug the heater into a wall outlet/receptacle. Never use with an
extension c ord or relocatable power tab (outlet/power strip).
18. This heater is for use on -
120volts. The cord has a plug as show n at A
in Figure O. An adaptor as shown in Figure 0 is available for connecting three-blade grounding type plugs to two-slot receptacles. The green grounding lug extending from the adaptor must be connected to a permanent gr ound such as a properly grounded outlet box.The adaptor should not be used if a three-slot grounded receptacle is available.
