/ Megawatt roof-mounted system provides more clean energy in the Philippine metropolis
/ Iloilo is the largest province on the island of Panay and is often referred to as
the “Heart of the Philippines”. The almost half a million inhabitants of the regional capital, Iloilo City, are now going one step further towards a clean energy supply: Gaisano Capital, one of the largest chains of shopping centres in
the Philippines, has recently commissioned a 1 MW roof-mounted system.
/ The background for the decision was the active promotion of solar energy
and a plan to upgrade the site. The Energy Development Corporation was responsible for planning the system, with whom the owner of the shopping centre has agreed a power purchase agreement. The energy generated can cover
up to 50% of the building’s daily power needs.
/ The system is being operated with 46 Fronius Symo inverters, which were
installed by the PV specialists from Solenergy Systems Inc., who have already
had positive experiences with Fronius inverters. Alongside their high quality,
the main reasons for the decision to opt for Fronius products were the warranty conditions and the dynamic feed-in management.
