Q: What has Fronius (the SE division) been doing to
keep the guiding principle “24 hours of sun” firmly
in its sights? Why is this topic so important to
Fronius?
A: The realignment of the SE division created a
powerful vision with a challenging goal. The
realisation of this goal is what spurs us on and it is at
the heart of everything we do.
Q: How would you describe 24 hours of sun in one
sentence?
A: The vision of 24 hours of sun represents the energy
supply of the future; a future in which photovoltaics
plays a key role.
Q: What is the goal of 24 hours of sun?
A: Our goal is to guide development in the direction of 24 hours of sun. We are encouraging you to help
too - together the path to 24 hours of sun will be much easier.
Q: Why does 24 hours of sun affect all of us, and why should we be concerned?
A: We all have a social responsibility to make the world a better place for current and future generations.
We are also responsible for our environment - and this is something that we recognise here at Fronius.
Q: What can we do to help make 24 hours of sun a reality?
A: By cycling or using public transport, using energy responsibly contributes towards 24 hours of sun.
The crucial message is: everyone can do something.
Q: What role does Fronius play in the energy revolution, i.e. the realisation of 24 hours of sun?
A: Our aim is to play a significant role in transforming the energy system: after all, we‘re talking about a
future without CO2 emissions or fossil fuels.
Q: What is your personal contribution? How do you live a “24 hours of sun” lifestyle?
A: I drive an electric car or take the train. I also try to pay attention to how much energy I consume and
make do without many of the typical consumers, so I use a PV system with a storage facility. I am
particularly proud to have had the opportunity to take on an ambassador role here at Fronius, and I look
forward to seeing the progression of 24 hours of sun and the way in which people are already working
together to achieve this goal.

LOOKING BACK ON A SUCCESSFUL YEAR
"2015 was a very good year for us. Our vision has been well received in the market. Fronius
SnapINverters have been a great success. We were able to increase our revenue by 80 percent. In the
last year we have sold between 1.3 and 1.4 GW inverter capacity. We are proud of that." says head of
division Martin Hackl.
2016 also looks promising, a few days ago the 200.000th Fronius SnapINverter came off the production
line. Another 25 percent increase in revenue is planned. According to Martin Hackl a big part of this
increase is expected to be based on storage solutions. Fronius offers two storage solutions: the
already available Fronius Energy Package and the Fronius Energy Package Powerwall.
The Fronius Energy Package Powerwall will be available from the third quarter of 2016 in Germany,
Austria and Switzerland. It will then be rolled out to other European countries and Australia.
MUNICIPAL SOLAR POWER PROJECT, BRAZIL
Power utility chooses Fronius solar solutions for field study
on concentrated net integration of solar energy.
The city of Belem, in Pára in northeastern Brazil, recently took a
major step towards 24 hours of sun. A field study conducted by
the Universidade Federal do Pará UFPA and the power utility
company CELPA investigates the effects of concentrated
integration of photovoltaic energy in the power supply grid. 70
PV-systems are concentrated in a relatively small area, and
reflect the differing power consumption characteristics of
residential districts, shopping districts and commercial districts
of a typical city in Brazil.
“The decision to utilize Fronius products was made jointly
between all project participants. The installation of the Fronius
inverters and the sensors was very easy, as well as the
monitoring setup. Everything works 100% as planned.” Pedro
Pinto, responsible system installer from Neosolar Energy.

Take part in our photo competition for your chance to win a
holiday in Gothenburg, Sweden in the week of the longest day
of the year (21st June 2017) - worth € 2000.
How it works:
Take a picture of unusual situations, dramatic
perspectives or stunning moods that reflect your
interpretation of 24 hours of sun - a world in which
energy is generated using nothing but renewables or
that capture contributions towards the realisation of
24hrs sun.
Publish the picture to your Pinterest wall with the
hashtag #24hoursofsun, along with your e-mail address.
Selected photos will be pinned to the “You are 24 hours
of sun” Fronius Pinterest wall. A winner will be chosen
from all the pinned photos.
The winner enjoys 24 hours of sun in Sweden.
