INFORMATION RCD FRONIUS PRIMO GEN24

hereby confirms, that the inverters
/ Fronius Primo GEN24 3.0 – 6.0
/ Fronius Primo GEN24 Plus 3.0 – 6.0
are equipped with an AC/DC sensitive residual current monitoring unit (RCMU) according to VDE 0126-1-1.
The RCMU monitors fault currents from the PV generator to the AC output of the inverter and disconnects the
inverter from the mains if unduly fault currents occur.
In addition the Fronius inverters are by construction not able to feed DC fault current into the installation as
required by IEC 60364-7-712:2002 and DIN VDE 0100-712.
Depending on the protection of the installation or requirements of the grid operator additional RCD’s may be
required. In this case, a type A RCD with sensitivity of at least 100mA per inverter is required. The usage of an
RCD with lower sensitivity is not recommended as this may cause unwanted tripping of the RCD.
