Gunskirchen environmental centre, at
/ Regional environmental bank takes a pioneering step towards 24 hours of sun
/ As a subsidiary of the Raiffeisenbank, the environmental centre in the Upper
Austrian town of Gunskirchen has taken upon itself to only finance projects in
the renewable energy sector. To lead by positive example, the question of sustainability was central to the renovation and expansion of the old bank building.
/ As well as the extension built almost entirely out of wood, a photovoltaics
system and an electric vehicle charging station was also installed in the building. An electric car is available for neighbours to rent at any time.
/ In addition to the roof-mounted PV system, the façade above all draws attention with its own custom-built, integrated solar modules. The total 27.2 kWp
output is governed by two Fronius Symo inverters. “As a regional bank, it is of
course very important to us to source from domestic suppliers. As Fronius inverters are renowned for their outstanding quality, the decision was easy to make,”
explains Branch Manager Hubert Pupeter.
