AFCI is functional and suitable for installations with DC-line loops (plus to minus) up to 600m (2000ft).
Fronius has conducted tests in order to investigate the functionality of the AFCI in such installations. The tests
used the same procedures and met the same requirements as the initial test that was conducted according to
UL1699B, but with one key difference. Instead of testing up to ~60m (200ft), as defined per UL1699B – 49.3
Line impedance test, the tests were performed with DC-line loops (plus to minus) of 600m (2000ft).
