“Continue”, for instance, the security prompt by Windows’ user account control.
If you are prompted to do so, insert the FRITZ!WLANUSB Stick CD and follow the
instructions on the screen.
Installation of the device driver is complete when the message “Installation of the
wireless LAN hardware has been completed successfully” appears.

Establishing a Wireless Connection: WPS
Direct Connections
FRITZ!WLANUSB Stick supports WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup), a standardized procedure
for secure wireless LAN connections between WLAN clients and WLAN access points.
With WPS all security settings needed are transferred at the push of a button (pushbutton method) or by entering a PIN (PIN method).
1. Select from the list of available wireless LAN devices the device you would like to
connect to.
With a direct connection you can build a network between wireless users without
resorting to an access point, for instance, to exchange data directly. An ad-hoc network
of this nature is created by one wireless user; all other wireless users can register
at this network. Comprehensive information on setting up an ad-hoc network is presented in the (PDF) manual of your FRITZ!WLANUSB Stickat:
www.avm.de/en/service/manuals.
2. If WPS is supported, the corresponding WLAN control software will guide you
through all of the remaining steps.
Declaration of CE Conformity
FRITZ!WLANUSB Stick satisfi es the requirements of the EU directive 1999/5/EC (R&TTE Directive: Radio Equipment
and Telecommunications Terminal Equipment) as well as the EU directive 2009/125/EC (Directive on ecodesign
requirements for energy-related products). The CE symbol confi rms that the FRITZ!WLANUSB Stick conforms with
the above mentioned regulations. The comprehensive declaration of CE conformity is included in the
FRITZ!WLAN: List of available WLAN devices: Devices that support WPS are designated with the WPS icon
