Cycle Selection
For best results, follow the fabric care label directions on
items to be washed. Check the Control Settings Chart
if the care label is not available.
Prewash Cycle
The Prewash Cycle can be used to help remove proteinbased stains such as milk, grass or blood and to help
loosen soils before washing. During Prewash, the washer
will tumble the load for 6 minutes, drain, spin and shut
off. Use the amount of detergent and other laundry
products recommended for a normal wash cycle.
• The Prewash water temperature is the same as the
wash water temperature selected. To avoid setting
protein stains, select cold water.
• This cycle should always be followed by a complete
wash cycle using the recommended amount of
detergent.
Regular Cycle
Up to 19 minutes of reversing tumble action for most
fabrics. Three rinses and a high-speed final spin complete
the cycle.
• Heavy Wash provides up to 19 minutes of reversing
tumble action for heavily soiled fabrics.
• Wash provides up to 13 minutes of reversing tumble
action for normally to lightly soiled fabrics.
Note: There is no need to select a water level because
the washer automatically adjusts the water level
to the type and size of wash load.
WASH/RINSE TEMPERATURE - This determines water
temperatures for washing and rinsing. For example, the
Warm/Cold setting provides a warm water wash and a
cold water final rinse.
Note: Detergents are not as effective at wash water
temperatures below 65° F.
CYCLE SIGNAL - A signal will sound at the end of the
cycle. The Cycle Signal is adjustable and can be set at OFF
or from QUIET to LOUD.
Note: If the signal is turned to the OFF position, it will
not sound at the end of the cycle.
EXTRA RINSE - Use Extra Rinse when additional rinsing
is desired to remove excess dirt and detergent from
heavily soiled loads.
• Select Extra Rinse YES to automatically include an
extra rinse in the Regular or Perm Press cycle.
• Select Extra Rinse NO to conserve water when an
extra rinse is not desired.
DOOR LOCK INDICATOR LIGHT - The indicator light is
on when the cycle selector knob is pulled out. The light
turns off at the end of the cycle. See your Owner's Guide
for detailed information.

The wash load may feel damper at the end of the Perm
Press cycle than it would at the end of the Regular cycle.
Knits & Delicates Cycle
Up to 9 minutes of gentle tumble action for the gentle
care of knit and delicate items. Two rinses and 2 slow
speed spins complete the cycle.
