Thepumpassemblyisdrivenbya1/12 HP, shaded pole motor. Rotation is in the counterclockwisedirectionat3100to3200RPM. Themotordrivesapumpwhichsupplies100 percentfilteredwateratarateofapproximately 12GPMtoonesprayarmatatime.Thespray arm’soperationisalternatedbysmall“pauses” ofthemotorduringthewashcycle.

Drainingisaccomplishedbyusingasmall separatesynchronousdrainpumpmountedto thesideofthesump.Thedrainpumpisconnected tothemainpumpbyasmallrubberhose.The draincheckvalveislocatedattheentrancetothe drainpump.Thedrainhoseisattachedbya wormgearclamptothedischargeofthedrain pump.Thedrainisthenroutedupthesideofthe dishwasherandattachedtothesideofthetub. Thisdrainloopinsuresthatanairpocketcannot formnearthedrainpumpandcausethepumpto

airlock.Thedrainlooponthesideofthetubmust

bekeptinplaceafterservicing.

Themainpumpcaneasilyberemovedby disconnectingtheuppersprayarmsupplytube, thedrainpumpconnectorhose,andthewiring harnessconnectionsmadeatthecirculation motorandthewaterheatthermistorlocatedon thebottomofthepump.

Oncethepumpassemblyisremovedfromthe dishwasher,themotor/impellerassemblycanbe removedfromthesumpbytakingoutthethree (3)T-20Torxheadscrewsfromthealuminum motorbracketandthenthethree(3)T-20Torx headscrewsfromthevolutecover.Usingalarge flatheadscrewdriverinsertedbetweenthe impellerscrewandthesump’svolute,themotor/ impellerassemblycanbegentlypriedoutofthe sump.Usethescrewdriverasalever.
