Prevent Accidents
To reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock, orinjurytopersonswhen using your air conditioner, follow basic precautions, including the
following:
Be sure the electrical service is adequate forthemodelyouhave chosen. This information can be found on the serial plate,which is located on the side of the cabinet and behind the grille.
If the air conditioner is to be installed in awindow, you will probably want to clean both sides of the glass first. If the window is a triple-track type with a screen panel included, remove the screen completely before installation.
Be sure the airconditioner has been securely and correctly installed according to the separate installation instructions provided with this
manual. Save this manual and the installation instructions for possible future use in removing orreinstalling this unit.
When handling the air conditioner, be careful to avoid cuts from sharp metal fins on front and rear coils.
Electrical Information
The complete electrical rating of your new room air conditioner is stated on the serial plate. Refer to the rating when checking the electrical requirements.
Be sure theair conditioner isproperly grounded. To minimize shock and fire hazards, propergrounding is important. The power cord is
equippedwithathree-prong grounding plug and a current leakage detection device forprotection against shock& fire hazards.
Your air conditioner must be used in a properly grounded wall receptacle. If thewall receptacle you intend to useis not adequately grounded or protected by a time delay fuseor circuit breaker, have a
qualified electrician install the proper receptacle.
Do not run airconditioner with outside protective cover in place. This could result in mechanical damage within the airconditioner.
Do not usean extension cordor an adapterplug.
Energy Saving Ideas

Do not blockinside air flowwith blinds, curtainsor furniture; or
outside with shrubs, enclosures, or other buildings.
The capacity of the room air conditioner mustfittheroomsizefor efficient and satisfactory operation.
Install the room air conditioner on theshadysideofyourhome. A window that faces north is best because itis shaded most of the day.
Close thefireplace damper, floor and wall registers so cool airdoes
not escape upthe chimney andinto the ductwork.
Keep blinds anddrapes in otherwindows closed duringthesunniest
part of the day.
Clean the air filter as recommended in the section "Care and
Cleaning"
Proper insulation and weatherstrippinginyourhomewillhelpkeep
warm airout and cool airin.
External house shadingwith trees, plants or awningswill help reduce
the airconditioner work load.
Operate heat producing appliances such as ranges, washers, dryers
and dishwashers during the coolest part of the day.

The powersupplycord contains acurrent device thatsenses damage to the power cord. Totest your powersupply cord dothe following:
1. Plug inthe AirConditioner.
2. The power supply cord will have TWO buttons on the plug head. Press the TEST button. Youwill notice aclick as theRESET button pops out.
3. Press theRESET button. Again youwill notice aclick as thebutton engages.
4. The power supply cord is now supplying electricity to the unit. (On some products this is also indicated bya light onthe plug head).
NOTES:
Do not usethis device toturn the uniton or off.
Always make surethe RESET button is pushed in for correctoperation,
The power supplycord must bereplaced if itfails to resetwhen eithertheTEST button is pushed, or it can not be reset. A new one can be obtained from the product manufacturer.
If power supply cord is damaged, it CANNOT be repaired. ItMUSTbereplaced by one
obtained from the )roduct manufacturer.

NOTE: Fan starts at High Speed and adjusts toaslower speed as the room temperature dictates. For example if the room does not get too warm, itwill stay atthe slowest speed. If the room temperature rises quickly, such as a door being opened, it will automatically go to the highest speed. The fan speeds will re-adjust back to the slowest
speed as the room returns to the original set temperature.
Press the fan button to adjust the fan speed manually.

NOTE: For Delay Stop, the unit must be in the ON position. NOTE: For Delay Start,the unit mustbe in theOFF position. To adjust timer setting, tap or hold the UP arrow(,_ ) or the DOWN arrow(_ ) to change delay timer at 5 hour increments, up to 10 hours, thenat 1 hourincrements up to
24 hours. The control will countdown thetime remaining until start (8, 7.5, 7, etc.). The Delay Start mode
automatically selects cooling athigh Fan Speed. The temperature maintained will be the sameas previously set. To changethe settemperature, press "COOL" then Up or Down arrows until the desired temperature is indicated on the display. After 5seconds, the controlwill automaticall y
change thedisplayback to the hours remaining until the unit will start/stop. Turning the unit "ON" or"OFF" at any time will cancelthe Delay Start/Stopfunction.

The temperature willthen increase byanother 2°Fafter an additional 30 minutes. This new temperature will be
maintained for 7 hours before it returns to the originally selected temperature. This ends the "Sleep" MODE and
the unitwill continue to operate as originally programmed. The "Sleep" MODE program can be cancelled at anytime during operation by again pressing the "Sleep" button.
NOTE: This feature is a reminder tocleantheAirFilter (See Care and Cleaning) for more efficient operation. The
LED (light)will illuminate after 250hours ofoperation. To reset after cleaning the filter, press the "Check Filter" button and the lightwill go off.

Now that you have mastered the operating procedure, here are more features in your control that you should become
familiar with.
The" Cool" circuit has anautomatic 3 minutetime delayed startifthe unitis turned offand onquickly. This prevents overheating of thecompressor and possiblecircuit breaker tripping. The fan will continue torun during thistime.
The control will maintain the settemperature within 2°F, between 60°Fand 90°Fdegrees.
The control iscapableofdisplayingtemperatureindegreesFahrenheitordegreesCelsius.Toconvertfr_m_neto the other and back, press and hold the" TEMP/TIMER" Up ( _ )andDown(_ buttonstogetherfor3seconds.
EXHAUST CONTROL
This Exhaust Controlallows the airconditioner to either recirculate inside air(CLOSED) or exhaustair to the outside
(OPEN). The CLOSED position is used when maximum cooling is desired. It mayalso be used for air recirculation without cooling when theairconditionerissetinanyFAN position. The OPEN position removes stale air from the room andexhausts it to the outside. Fresh air isdrawn in through
normal passages in the home.
4-WAYLOUVERS
The 4-Way air directional louvers allow you to direct airflow up ordown, left or right throughout the room as needed.

Care and Cleaning:
Clean your air conditioner occasionally to keep it looking new. Be sure tounplug the unit before cleaning toprevent
shock or fire hazards:
Air Filter Cleaning The air filter should be checked at least once a month to see if
cleaning is necessary. Trapped particles in the filtercan build up and causean accumulation offrost onthe cooling coils.
Grasp the filter by the centerand pull upand out.
Wash the filter using liquid dishwashing detergent and warm water. Rinse filter thoroughly. Gently shake excess
water from the filter. Besure filter is thoroughlydry before replacing.
. Or, instead ofwashing you may vacuum the filter clean.
Cabinet Cleaning
Be sure tounplug the airconditioner to preventshock or fire hazard. The cabinet and front may be dusted with an oil-free cloth or washed with acloth dampened in a solution of warm water and mild liquid dishwashing detergent. Rinse thoroughly and wipedry.
Never use harshcleaner, waxor polish onthe cabinet front.
Be sure to wring excesswater fromthe cloth beforewiping around the controls. Excess water in or around the controls
may cause damage to the air conditioner.
Plug in air conditioner.
Winter Storage
If you plan to store the air conditioner during the winter, remove it carefully from the window according to the installation instructions. Coveritwith plasticorreturnittothe original carton. NOTE: To prevent rustor electrica! connetionsfrom being
damaged, store airconditioner in anupright position and in a dry place.

Room temperature below 60°F (15°C). Cooling may not occur until room temperature rises above60°F (15°C).
Temperaturesensor touching cold coil, located behind air filter. Straighten away
from coil.
Reset to a lower temperature. Compressor shut-off by changing modes. Wait approximately 3 minutes, and listen
for compressor to restart when set in the COOL mode.
Outdoor temperature below 60°F(15°C).To defrost the coil, set mode to FAN position.
Air filter may be dirty. Clean filter. Refer toCare and Cleaningsection. Todefrost,
set mode to FAN ONLY. Temperature is too Iowfor night-time cooling. To defrost thecoil, set toFAN ONLY
mode. Then, set temperature to a higher number. Dirty air filter-air restricted. Clean airfilter. Referto Care and Cleaning section.
Temperature is too high. Set temperature to alower number. Exhaust set at OPEN position. Set exhaust at CLOSED position for maximum
coolinG.
Air direction louvers positioned improperly. Position louvers for better air
distribution. Front of unitis blocked bydrapes, blinds, furniture,etc.- restricts airdistribution.
Clear blockage infront of unit. Doors, windows, registers, etc, open- cold air escapes. Close doors, windows,
registers, etc. Unit recently turned on in hotroom, allow additionaltime to remove "stored heat"
from walls, ceiling, floorand furniture.
Dirty air filter- air restricted. Clean air filter. Outside temperature extremely hot. Set FAN speed toafastersettingtobringair
past cooling coils morefrequently.
Air movement sound. This is normal. If too loud, set toa slower FAN setting.
Sound of fanhittingwater-moistureremovalsystem. Thisisnormalwhenhumidity is high. CIosedoors windows and registers.
Window vibration-poor installation. Refer to installation instructions or check
with installer.
Water dripping INSIDE Improper installation. Tilt air conditioner slightly to the outside to allow water
when unit iscooling, drainage. Refer toinstallation instructions -check with installer.
Water dripping OUTSIDE Unit removing large quantity of moisture from humid room. Thisisnormalduring
when unit iscooling, excessively humid days.
Room too cold. Setting too low. Increase temperaturesetting.
