Y our air conditioner will install into standard double hung windows with actual clear opening widths of 22 to 36 inches (559 mm to 914 mm) (FIG. 1)
Lower sash must open sufficiently to allow a clear vertical opening of 14-1/4 inches (337 mm).
Side louvers and the rear of the AC must have clear air space to allow enough airflow through the condenser, for heat removal. The rear of the unit must be outdoors, not inside a building or garage.
Electrical Service
Check your available electrical service. The power supply available must be the same as that shown on the unit nameplate (found on right side of AC cabinet). Be sure you have an outlet nearby.
All models are equipped with appropriate 3­prong service plug to provide proper service and safe positive grounding. Do not change plug in any way. Do not use an adapter plug. If your present wall outlet does not match your plug, call a qualified electrician to make the necessary corrections. SAV E C A R T ON and these INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS for future reference. The carton is the best way to store unit during winter , or when not in use.

CAUTION
When handling unit, be careful to avoid cuts from sharp metal edges and aluminum fins on front and rear coils.
How to Install
NOTE: Top Rail and Sliding Panels at each side are offset to provide the proper pitch to the rear of (5/16”). This is necessary for proper condensed water utilization. If you are not using the Side Panels for any reason, this pitch to the rear must be maintained!
Place unit on floor , a bench or a table. There is a Left and Right W indow Filler
Panel - be sure to use the proper panel for each side. When installed the flange for securing the panel in place to the window sill will be facing into the room. (continued)

Avoid fire hazard or electric shock. Do not use an extension cord or an adapter plug. Do not remove any prong from the power cord.

Do not under any circumstances cut, remove, or bypass the grouding prong from this plug.

C. Once the panel has been
installed on the side of the cabinet pull the frame back around the accordian so it fits into the frame channel, then slide the top and bottom of the frame into the rails of the cabinet. Figure 5.
D. Slide the panel all the
way in and repeat on the other side.
NOTE: If storm window blocks AC, see FIG. 12.
Keeping a firm grip on the air
conditioner , carefully place unit into window opening so bottom of air conditioner frame is against window sill (FIG. 6). Carefully close window behind top rail on unit
Extend sliding side panels out from
sides of unit and against window frame
(FIG. 7).

A. Holding
W indow Filler Panel in one hand gently pull the accordian center back to free the open end. See Figure 2.
B. W ith the free end
slide the I section of the panel into the cabinet as shown in Figures 3A, 3B & 4. Slide panel all the way down leaving enough space at the bottom to slip the frame top and bottom into the rails on the cabinet.

Drive 3/4 (19 mm) locking screws through frame holes and into sill
(FIG. 8). NOTE: To prevent window sill from possible splitting, drill 1/8 (3 mm) pilot holes before driving screws.
Drive 1/2

screws through frame holes into window sash (FIG. 9).
To secure lower sash in place, attach
right
angle safety lock onto side frame of top
window with 3/4 (19 mm) screw as shown (FIG. 10).
Cut foam sash seal to window width and place into space between upper and lower sashes to seal out air infiltration (FIG. 11).

If AC is Blocked by Storm Window
Add wood as shown in FIG. 12, or remove storm window before air conditioner is installed.
If Storm W indow Frame must remain, be sure the drain holes or slots are not caulked or painted shut. Accumulated Rain Water or Condensation must be allowed to drain out.
Removing AC From Window

T urn AC of f, and disconnect power cord.
*
Remove sash seal from between windows, and unscrew safety locks.
*
Remove screws installed through AC frame.
*
Close (slide) side panels into frame.
*
Keeping a firm grip on air conditioner , raise sash and carefully rock air conditioner backward to drain any condensate water in base of unit. Be careful not to spill any remaining water while lifting unit from window. Store parts WITH air conditioner .
