Important Safety Instructions
• Remove all tape and packaging before using the
range. Destroy the carton and plastic bags after
unpacking the range. Never allow children to play with
packaging material.
• Proper installation--Be sure your appliance is
properly installed and grounded bya qualified
technician in accordance with the National Electrical
CodeANSI/N FPA No. 70 latest edition and local
electrical code requirements. Install only per
installation instructions provided in the literature package
for this range.
• User servicing--Do not repair or replace any part
of the appliance unless specifically recommended in
the manuals. All other servicing should be done only by a
qualified technician. This may reduce the risk of personal
injury and damage to the range.
To check if the anti-tip bracket is installed properly, use
both arms and grasp the rear edge of range back.
Carefully attempt to tilt range forward. When properly
installed, the range should not tilt forward.

• Storage in or on appliance --to avoid a fire
hazard, flammable materials should not be stored
in an oven, near surface units or in the storage
drawer, warmer drawer or lower oven. Thisincludes
paper, plastic and cloth items, such ascookbooks,
plasticware and towels, as well as flammable liquids. Do
not store explosives, such as aerosol cans, on or near the
range.
• To avoid a possible fire hazard, never use your
appliance for warming or heating the room.
• Do not store items of interest to children in the
cabinets above a range or on the backguard of
the range. Children climbing on the range to reach
items could be seriously injured.
Do not touch surface heating units or surface
cooking elements, areas near these units or
elements, or interior surfaces of oven. Both
surface heating and oven heating elements may be hot
even though they are dark in color. Areas near surface
cooking units may become hot enough to cause burns.
During and after use, do not touch, or let clothing or
other flammable materials touch these areas until they
have had sufficient time to cool. Among these areas are
the cook top, surfaces facing the cook top, the oven
vent openings and surfaces near these openings, oven
door and oven door window.
• Wear proper apparel -- loose-fitting or hanging
garments should never be worn while using the
appliance. Donot let clothing or otherflammable
materials contact hot surfaces.
• Do not use water or flour on grease fires -- flour
may be explosive. Smother the fire with a pan lid,
or use baking soda, a dry chemical or foam-type
extinguisher.
• When heating fat or grease, watch it closely. Fat or
grease may catch fire if allowed to become too hot.
• Use dry potholders-- moist or damp potholders on
hot surfaces may result in burns from steam. Do not
let potholders touch hot heating elements. Do not use a
towel or other bulky cloth instead ofa potholder.

• Do not heat unopened food containers - buildup of
pressure may cause container to burst and result

Do not attempt to operate the range during a
power failure. If the power fails, always turn off the
range. If the range is not turned off and the power
resumes, the range will begin to operate again. Once the
power resumes, reset the clock and oven function.
• Besure to always have an appropriate foam-type fire
extinguisher available, visible and easily accessible
located near the appliance.
• Never modify or alter the construction of a range
by removing the leveling legs, panels, wire
covers, anti-tip bracket/screws, or any other
part of the range.
• Remove the oven door from any unused range if
it is to be stored or discarded.
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING
YOUR OVEN
Use care when opening oven door, lower oven
door or warmer drawer (if equipped)--Stand to the
side of the range when opening the door of a hot oven.
Let hot air or steam escape before you remove or replace
food in the oven.
Keep oven vent ducts unobstructed. The oven vent
is located under the left rear surface element if your
model isequipped with coil elements. The oven vent is
located below the backguard for models equipped with
ceramic-glass cook tops. Touching the surfaces in this
area when the oven is operating may cause severe
burns. Also, do not place plastic or heat-sensitive items
on or near the oven vent. These items could melt or
ignite.
Placement of interior oven racks. Always place oven
racks in desired location while oven is cool. If rack must
be moved while oven ishot use extreme caution. Use
potholders and grasp the rack with both hands to
reposition. Do not let potholders contact the hot heating
elements in the oven. Remove all utensils from the rack
before moving.
Do not use the broiler pan without its insert. The
broiler pan and its insert allow dripping fat to drain and
be kept away from the high heat of the broiler. Do not
cover the broiler insert with aluminum foil. Exposed
fat and grease could ignite.
Protective liners--Do not use aluminum foil to line the
oven bottom. Only use aluminum foil as recommended in
this manual. Improper installation of these liners may
result in risk of electric shock, or fire.

SELF-CLEANING OVENS
• Do not touch the oven during the self-clean cycle.
• Keep children away from oven during self-clean cycle.
• Failure to follow these instructions can result in burns.
• Clean in the self-cleaning cycle only the parts
listed in this Use &Care Manual. Before self-cleaning
the oven, remove the broiler pan and any utensils or
foods from the oven.
• Do Not Use Oven Cleaners--No commercial oven
cleaner or oven liner protective coating of any kind should
be used in or around any part of the oven.
• Do Not Clean Door Gasket--The door gasket is
essential for a good seal. Care should be taken not to
rub, damage or move the gasket.
• The health of some birds is extremely sensitive to the
fumes given off during the self-cleaning cycle of any
range. Move birds to another well-ventilated room.
IMPORTANTINSTRUCTIONS FOR CLEANING
YOUR RANGE
• Clean the range regularly to keep all parts free of
grease that could catch fire. Pay particular attention
to the area around each surface element. Do not allow
grease to accumulate.
• Kitchen cleaners and aerosols--Always follow the
manufacturer's recommended directions for use.
Be aware that excess residue from cleaners and aerosols
may ignite causing damage and injury.
• Clean ventilating hoods frequently--Grease should
not be allowed to accumulate on the hood or filter.
Follow the manufacturer's instructions for cleaning hoods.
FOR CERAMIC-GLASS COOK TOP MODELS
• Do not cook on broken cook top--If cook top should
break, cleaning solutions and spillovers may penetrate
the broken cook top and create a risk of electric shock.
Contact a qualified technician immediately.
• Clean cook top with caution--If a wet sponge or cloth
is used to wipe spills on a hot cooking area, be careful to
avoid a steam burn. Some cleaners can produce noxious
fumes if applied to a hot surface.
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING
YOUR COOKTOP
• Know which knob controls each surface heating
unit. Place a pan of food on the unit before turning it on,
and turn the unit off before removing the pan.
Use proper pan size--This appliance isequipped with
one or more surface units of different sizes. Select
utensils having flat bottoms large enough to cover the
surface unit heating element. The use of undersized
utensils will expose a portion of the heating element to
direct contact and may result in ignition of clothing.
Proper relationship of utensil to element will also improve
efficiency.
Utensil handles should be turned inward and not
extend over adjacent surface elements--To reduce
the risk of burns, ignition of flammable materials, and
spillage due to unintentional contact with the utensil, the
handle of the utensil should be positioned so that it is
turned inward, and does not extend over adjacent
surface units.
Never leave surface elements unattended at high
heat settings--Boilovers cause smoking and greasy
spillovers that may ignite, or a pan that has boiled dry
may melt.
Do not immerse or soak removable heating
elements--Heating elements should never be immersed
in water. Heating elements clean themselves during
normal operation.
Glazed cooking utensils--Only certain types ofglass,
glass/ceramic, ceramic, earthenware, or other glazed
utensils are suitable for cook top service without breaking
due to the sudden change in temperature. Check the
manufacturer's recommendations for cook top use.
• When flaming foods under a ventilating hood, turn
the fan on.

defects or other reproductive harm, and requires
businesses to warn customers of potential exposure to such

Oven vent location
The oven vent is located under the left side of the
control panel (See Fig. 1). When the oven ison, warm
air passes through this vent. This venting is necessary for
proper air circulation in the oven and good baking results.

Always use oven mitts to protect hands from possible
burns when using the oven or cooktop. The oven, oven
racks and cooktop will become very hot.
Removing, replacing & arranging racks
To remove - pull the rack forward until it stops. Lift up
front of rack and slide out.
To replace - fit the rack onto the guides on the oven walls.
Tilt the front of the rack upward and slide the rack back into
place.
Arranging - always arrange the oven racks when the oven
is cool (prior to operating the oven).
Types of oven racks
Your range may be equipped with one or more of the oven
rack styles shown.

The flat oven rack (some models) may be used for most
cooking needs and may be placed in most rack positions.

The flat handle oven rack (some models) may be used
for most cooking needs. May be placed in most rack
positions. Similar to the flat oven rack but comes with a
built-in handle.
The offset oven rack (some models) provides additional
stepdown positions from the standard flat rack design. The
offset design positions the base of the rack about 1/2 of a
rack position lower than the flat rack and may be used in
most oven rack positions.

Air circulation in the oven
For best baking results allow 2-4" (5-10 cm) around the
cookware for proper air circulation and be sure pans and
cookware do not touch each other, the oven door, sides or
back of the oven cavity. Hot air must be able to circulate
around the pans and cookware in the oven for even heat to
reach around the cookware (See Fig. 1).
Baking layer cakes with 1 or 2 oven racks
For best results when baking cakes using 2 oven racks,
place cookware on rack positions 2 & 5. For best results
when using a single oven flat rack, place cookware on rack
positions 2, 3 or 4.

About the ceramic glass cooktop
The ceramic cooktop has radiant surface elements located
below the surface of the glass. The design of the ceramic
cooktop outlines the area of the surface element
underneath. Be sure to match the pan size with the
diameter of the element outline on the cooktop and only
flat-bottomed cookware should be used.
The type and size of cookware, the number of surface
elements in use and their settings are all factors that will
affect the amount of heat that will spread to areas beyond
the surface elements. The areas surrounding the elements
may become hot enough to cause burns.
About the radiant surface elements
The element temperature rises gradually and evenly. As the
temperature rises, the element will glow red. To maintain
the selected setting the element will cycle ON and OFF. The
heating element retains enough heat to provide a uniform
and consistent heat during the off cycle.
For efficient cooking, turn the surface control OFFseveral
minutes before cooking is complete. This will allow residual
heat to complete the cooking process.

Your appliance is equipped with two different types of
surface element control indicator lights located on the
control panel -- the on indicator and the hot surface
indicator lights.
The on indicator light (See Fig. 2) will glow when any
surface element isturned ON. A quick glance at this
indicator light after cooking is an easy check to be sure the
surface controls are turned OFF. The hot surface
indicator light (See Fig. 3) will glow when any surface
cooking area becomes hot and will remain on until the
glass cooktop has cooled to a moderate level.

• Radiant elements have a limiter that allows the surface
element to cycle ON and OFF,even at the HI setting.
This helps to prevent damage to the ceramic
smoothtop. Cycling at the HI setting is normal and will
occur more often if the cookware is too small for the
radiant element or if the cookware bottom is not flat.

Types of cooktop elements
The ceramic glass cooktop has radiant surface elements
located below the surface of the glass cooktop. The
patterns on the ceramic glass will outline the size and type
of element available.
The single radiant element will have one round outline
pattern shown (keep warm zone is designed to keep food
warm only - on some models).
The dual radiant element (some models) has two outline
patterns. You may set just the smaller inner portion as a
single element or both inner and outer portions of the
element may be set to heat together. The control knobs for
these element types are shown below (See Fig. 1).

Cookware material types
The cookware material determines how evenly and quickly
heat will transfer from the element to the cookware bottom.
The most popular materials available are listed below.
Aluminum - Excellent heat conductor. Some types of food
will cause it to darken (Anodized aluminum cookware
resists staining & pitting). If aluminum pans slide across the
ceramic cooktop, they may leave metal marks which will
resemble scratches. Remove these marks immediately.
Copper - Excellentheat conductor but discolors easily. May
leave metal marks on ceramic glass (see Aluminum).
Stainless - Slow heat conductor with uneven cooking
results. Is durable, easy to clean and resists staining.
Cast Iron - A slow heat conductor however will retain heat
very well. Cooks evenly once cooking temperature is
reached. Not recommended for use on ceramic cooktops.
Porcelain-enamel on metal - Heating characteristics will
vary depending on base material. Porcelain-enamel coating
must be smooth to avoid scratching ceramic cooktops.
Glass - Slow heat conductor. Not recommended for
ceramic cooktop surfaces because it may scratch the glass.
Using proper cookware
The size and type of cookware used will influence the
setting needed for best cooking results. Be sure to follow
the recommendations for using proper cookware as
illustrated in Figs. 2 & 3.

Cookware should have flat
bottoms that make good contact
with the entire surface heating
element (See Fig. 2). Check for
flatness by rotating a ruler
across the bottom of the
cookware (See Fig. 3).
Do not place empty aluminum, glass or porcelain-enamel
coated cookware on the ceramic cooktop! The melting
point of some cookware may be reached if left heating on
the cooktop when empty. The cookware can bond to the
ceramic cooktop. If the cookware melts it could damage
the cooktop! Be sure to follow all the manufacturer's
suggestions when using any type of cookware on the
ceramic cooktop.

Single radiant surface elements
To operate the single radiant element:
1. Place correctly sized cookware on single radiant surface
element.
2. Push in and turn the surface control knob in either
direction (Fig. 2) to the desired setting (Refer to the
Suggested radiant surface element settings
table Fig. 1). Start most cooking operations on a
higher setting and then turn to a lower setting to finish
cooking. The surface control knobs do not have to be
set exactly on a particular spot. Use the graphics
provided as a guide and adjust the control knob as
needed (See Fig. 2). Each surface element provides a
constant amount of heat at each setting. A glowing red
surface heating area extending beyond the bottom edge
of the cookware indicates the cookware is too small
for the surface heating area.
3. When cooking is complete, turn the radiant surface
element OFF before removing the cookware.
Suggested radiant surface element
settings
The suggested settings found in Fig.1 below are based
when cooking with medium-weight aluminum pans with
lids. Settings may vary when using other types of pans.

• Radiant surface elements may appear to have cooled
after they have been turned off. The glass surface
may still be hot and burns may occur if the glass
surface is touched before it has cooled sufficiently.

Do not place flammable items such as plastic salt
and pepper shakers, spoon holders or plastic wrappings
on top of the range when it is in use. These items could
melt or ignite. Potholders, towels or wooden spoons
could catch fire if placed too close to the surface

If these items melt on the cooktop they coulddamage the
ceramiccooktop.
• The sizeand type of utensil used, and the amount and
type of food being cooked will influence the setting
needed for best cooking results.
• The on indicator light will glow when one or more
elements are turned ON. A quick glance at this indicator
light when finished cooking is an easy check to be sure
all control knobs are turned OFF. The hot surface

indicator light will continue to glow AFTER the control
knob isturned to the OFF position and will remain on
until the heating surface area has cooled sufficiently.

Dual radiant surface elements (some models)
Symbols on the backguard will help choose which portion of
the dual radiant element to set. The o symbol indicates a
setting for the inner coil only. The _ symbol indicates a
setting for both inner and outer coils.
To operate a dual radiant element:
1. Place correctly sized cookware on dual radiant surface
element.

Push in and turn the surface control knob clockwise
(See Fig. 1) to begin heating both the inner and outer
portions of the dual element. If only the inner heating
portion is needed for smaller cookware, push in and
turn the knob counter-clockwise to start (See Fig. 2).

When cooking is complete, turn the dual radiant surface
element OFF before removing the cookware.
Start most surface cooking on a higher setting and then
turn to a lower setting to finish cooking. The surface control
knobs do not have to be set exactly on a particular mark.
Use the marks as a guide and adjust the control knob as
needed. A glowing red surface heating area extending
beyond the bottom edge of the cookware indicates the
cookware is too small for the surface heating area.

The melting point of some cookware may be reached if
left heating on the cooktop when empty. The cookware

type of food being cooked will influence the setting

Keep warm (some models)
The purpose of the keep warm zone is to keep hot cooked
foods at serving temperature. Use the keep warm feature
to keep cooked foods hot such as; vegetables, gravies,
casseroles, soups, stews, breads, pastries and oven-safe
dinner plates.
Always start with hot food. It is not recommended to heat
cold food on the keep warm zone. All food placed on the
warming zone should be covered with a lid to maintain
quality.
For best results, when warming pastries or breads, the
cover should have an opening to allow moisture to escape.
Do not use plastic wrap to cover food. Plastic may
melt onto the surface and be very difficult to clean.
Use only dishware, utensils and cookware recommended
for oven and cooktop use on the keep warm zone.
Setting the keep warm control:

Push in either direction and turn the keep warm control
knob (See Fig 1). The temperatures are approximate,
and are designated by hi and Io. However, the control
may be set at any position between hi and Io for
different levels of warming.

When ready to serve, turn the keep warm zone control
to OFF. The keep warm zone will remain warm until the
indicator lightturnsOFF.
Temperature selection - Refer to the keep warm zone
recommended food settings table (See Fig. 2). If a
particular food isnot listed, start with the medium level,
and adjust as needed. Most foods can be kept at serving
temperatures by using the medium level.

Home canning
Be sure to read and observe all the following points when
home canning with your appliance. Check with the USDA
(United States Department of Agriculture) website and be
sure to read all the information they have available as well
as follow their recommendations for home canning
procedures.
• Useonly quality flat bottom canners when home canning.
Use a straight-edge to check canner bottom (see
"Cookware material types" in the Before setting
surface controls section).
• Useonly a completely flat bottom canner with no
ridges that radiate from the bottom center when home
canningusing a ceramic cooktop.
• Make sure the diameter of the canner does not
exceed 1 inch beyond the surface element
markings or burner. It is recommended to use smaller
diameter canners on electric coil and ceramic glass
cooktops.
• Start with hot tap water to bring water to boil more
quickly.

Setting the clock
When the appliance is first plugged in or when the power
supply to the appliance has been interrupted, the display
will flash "12:00". It is recommended to always set the
clock for the correct time of day before using the appliance.
To set the clock:
1. Press clock set once (do not hold keypad down).
Changing temperature display (°F or °C)
The electronic oven control is set to display °F (Fahrenheit)
temperatures by default when shipped from the factory.
The oven may be programmed to display °C (Celsius)
temperatures.
To change the temperature to display °C (Celsius) or
from °C to °F :
2. Within 5 seconds, press and hold the A or V until
the correct time of day appears in the display.
• Be sure to set the clock with the correct time of day
before using the oven.
• The clock cannot be adjusted when the oven is active
or during self-clean.
Changing between continuous bake
setting or 12-Hour Energy Saving feature
The oven control has a built-in 12-Hour Energy Saving
feature that will shut off the oven if the control is left on for
more than 11 hours and 59 minutes. The oven can be
programmed to override this feature for continuous baking.
Changing to continuous bake setting:
1. Press and hold timer on-off keypad for 5 seconds until
a tone sounds, "---- hr" will appear in display for
continuous cooking. The current time of day will return
to the display.
2. To cancel the continuous bake setting, press
timer on-off keypad and hold for 5 seconds until a
tone sounds. "12hr" will appear in display indicating
that the control has returned to the 12-Hour Energy
Saving feature.
1. Press broil keypad. "----" appears in the display.
2. Press and hold the A until "HI" appears in the
display.
3. Press and hold broil keypad until °F or °C appears in
the display.
4. Press the _ or V to change °F to°Cor°Cto°F.
5. Press any control keypad to return to normal operating
mode.
The temperature display (°F or °C) feature cannot be
changed when the oven or clean is active.
Setting for audible or silent keypad
operation
Normally a beep will sound each time a keypad is pressed.
If desired, the control may beset for silent keypad
operation.
Press and hold the start time keypad. After 7 seconds, the
control will beep once. This will block the controls from
sounding when a keypad is pressed in the future.
To turn the silent control panel feature off, press and hold
start time keypad again for 7 seconds until the control
beeps once.
Changing between continuous bake or the 12-Hour Energy
saving mode will not change how the cooktop controls
operate.

Setting controls lock I_ controts
The control may be programmed to lock the oven control
keypads and the oven door.
To set the controls lock feature:
1. Press clear off keypad and hold for 3 seconds. "Loc"
will appear indisplay, the "door locked" indicator light
will flash and the motor driven door lock will begin to
close automatically. Allow about 15 seconds for the
oven door to lock. Once the oven door is locked, the
current time of day will appear in the display.
2. To cancel the controls lock feature, press clear off
keypad and hold for 3 seconds. The control will unlock
the oven door and resume normal keypad operation.
Setting the timer
The timer helps keep track of cooking times without
interfering with the cooking process. The timer will provide
3 beep when the set time has expired. The timer may be
set for i minute up to 11 hours and 59 minutes.
To set the timer:
1. Press timer on-off keypad.
2. Press A to increase the time in one minute
increments. Press and hold A to increase the time in
10 minute increments. The timer may be set for any
amount of time from 1 minute to 11 hours and 59
minutes.
If the V keypad is pressed first, the timer will advance
to 11 hours and 59 minutes.
• To avoid possible damage to the oven door latch
mechanism, do not attempt to open or close the oven
door whenever the "door locked" indicator light is
flashing.
• If a control keypad is pressed when controls lock is
active, "Loc" will appear in the display as a reminder
that the keypad action is not available when the
controls lock feature is active.
3. When the set time has run out, the timer will beep 3
times and will continue to beep 3 times every 60
seconds until timer on-off keypad is pressed.
To change the timer while it is in use:
While the timer is active, press and hold the _ or V
to increase or decrease the time remaining.
To cancel the minute timer before the set time has
run out:
Press timer on-off keypad once.
• The indicator light located above the timer on-off
keypad will glow when the timer isactive.
• The timer does not start or stop the cooking
process. The timer may be started alone or with any
other active oven feature.
• The timer will display hours and minutes until 1 hour
remains. When less than 1 hour remains, the display
will count down in minutes and seconds. Once the timer
has less than 1 minute remaining onlyseconds will
display.
• If the timer isactive when oven cooking, the minute
timer will show in the display by default. To view
information of any other active oven function, press the
keypad once for the active function to view status.

Bake
Use the bake feature to prepare most food items when the
recipe calls for normal baking. A reminder tone (3 beeps)
will sound once the oven finishes preheating. Bake may be
set for any temperature from 170°F (77°C) to 550°F
(288°C). The factory default temperature is 350°F (177°C).
Always use pot holders or oven mitts when working with
a hot oven. When cooking, the oven interior, oven racks
and cooktop will become hot enough to cause burns.
To set bake:
1. Press bake. "------
.
Within 5 seconds, press the A or V •The display
will show 350°F (177°C). By pressing and holding
the A or V, the temperature may be adjusted in
5°F increments (1°C if the control isset to display
Celsius).

As soon as the A or V keypad is released, the oven
will begin heating to the set temperature. When the
oven temperature reaches the desired baking
temperature, the preheat indicator light will turn OFF.

Dark or dull pans absorb more heat than shiny bakeware
resulting in dark or overbrowning of foods. It may be
necessary to reduce the oven temperature or cook time
to prevent overbrowning of some foods. Dark pans are
recommended for pies. Shiny pans are recommended for
cakes, cookies and muffins.
Bake time
A bake time setting may be added to most oven cooking
features. Use the bake time setting to start the oven
immediately and to turn off automatically after the set bake
time runs out.
To program the oven to begin baking immediately
and to shut off automatically (timed bake):
1. Be sure that the clock shows the correct time of day.
2. Press bake. "------
3. Within 5 seconds, press the A or V •The display will
show 350°F (177°C). By holding the A or V, the
temperature can then be adjusted in 5°F increments
(1°C if the control is set to display Celsius).

To change the oven temperature after bake has

1. Press bake. Visually check the bake temperature at
this time.

the set temperature.
• The oven indicator light on the oven control display will
turn ON and OFFwhen baking. This is normal and
indicates that the oven elements are cycling to maintain
the set temperature.
4. Press bake time. ":00" will appear in the display.
5. Press the A or V and release when the desired
baking time appears in the display.
6. The oven will turn ON and begin heating.
To cancel baking at anytime press clear off keypad.
• A bake time or start time instruction cannot be added
when broiling.
• A bake time instruction may beadded when using
convec bake (some models).
• The maximum bake time setting is 11 hours & 59
minutes.

Start time
Use this keypad to add delay start time instructions for
most oven cooking features or with the clean feature.
FOOD POISONING HAZARD. Do not letfood sit for more
than one hour before or after cooking. Doing so can result
infood poisoning or sickness.
Use caution when setting bake time or start time
instructions. Foods that can easily spoil such as milk,
eggs, fish, meat or poultry, should be chilled in the
refrigerator first. Even when chilled, they should not
stand in the oven for more than 1 hour before cooking
begins, and should be removed promptly when finished
cooking.
To set the oven to bake with a start time and to
automatically turn off once the bake time runs out:
1. Be sure the clock is set with the correct time of day.
2. Press bake. "------

When the set bake time runs out"
1. "End" will appear in the display window and the oven
will shut-off automatically.
2. The control will beep 3 times every 60 seconds as a
reminder until the clear off keypad is pressed.
To change the oven temperature or bake time after
baking has started:
1. Press the function keypad you want to change.
2. Press A or V toadjustthesetting.
• Bake time or start time settings cannot be added to the
broil feature.
• A start time setting may be set with clean. The clean
feature will not accept bake time instructions. Refer to
the clean section for details on how to select different
clean cycle times.
• When setting any cooking feature with start time
instructions, a bake time setting must be included.
• The maximum bake time or start time setting is 11
hours & 59 minutes.
3. Within 5 seconds, press the A or V • The display will
show 350°F (177°C). By holding the _ or V, the
temperature can then be adjusted in 5°F increments
(1°C if the control is set to display Celsius).

Convec bake (some models)
Benefits of the convec bake feature

-- No special pans or bakeware needed
Convec bake uses a fan to circulate the oven's heat
uniformly and continuouslyaround the oven. This improved
heat distribution allows for fast, even cooking and browning
results. It also gives better baking results when using
multiple oven racks.
Heated air flows around the food from all sides, sealing in
juices and flavors. Meats cooked with convec bake are
juicer. Poultry is crisp on the outside while staying tender
and moist on the inside. Breads and pastry brown more
evenly. Most foods baked in astandard oven can be cooked
faster and more evenly with convec bake.
Suggestions for convec bake
When baking
• For optimum cooking results it is recommended to
preheat the oven when baking foods such as cookies,
biscuits and breads.
• Reduce oven temperature 25°F from recipe's
recommended oven temperature. Follow the remainder
of the recipe's instructions using the minimum
recommended cooktime.
• When using 2 oven racks at the same time, place in
positions 2 & 5 for best results (See Fig. 1).
When roasting
• Preheating is not necessary when roasting foods using
convec bake.
• Reduce the cook time by 25% from the recommended
cook time of your recipe. Check the food at this time. If
necessary, increase cook time until the desired
doneness isobtained.

Broil
Use the broil feature to cook meats that require direct
exposure to radiant heat for optimum browning results.
When broiling, always remember to arrange the oven racks
while the oven is still cool. Position the rack as suggested in
the broil settings table (See Figs. 1 & 2).
To set broil:
1. Arrange the oven rack while oven is still cool.
2. Press broil. "----"will appear in display.
3. Press and hold the A or V until the desired broil
setting level appears in the display. Press the A for HI
broil orthe V for lO broil. Most foods may be broiled
at the HI broil setting. Select the LO broil setting to
avoid excess browning or drying of foods that should be
cooked to the well-done stage.

For optimum results, preheat oven for 5 minutes
before adding food.
.
Place prepared food directly under upper element.
6.
Leave oven door open at broil stop position (Fig. 3).
7.
Broil food on one side until desired browness is
obtained. Turn food and broil on other side.
To stop broil at anytime press clear off.
Should an oven fire occur, close the oven door and turn
the oven OFF. If the fire continues, use a fire
extinguisher. DO NOT put water or flour on the fire. Flour
may be explosive.

• For better access to food while broiling, use oven mitts
and pull the oven rack out to the rack stop position

Adjusting the oven temperature
Your appliance has been factory calibrated and tested to
ensure an accurate baking temperature. For the first few
uses, follow your recipe times and temperature
recommendations carefully. If you thinkthe oven is cooking
too hot or too cool for your recipe times, you can adjust the
control so the oven cooks hotter or cooler than the
temperature displayed.
To adjust oven temperature:
1. Press bake keypad.
Operating the oven light
The interior oven light will automatically turn ON when the
oven door is opened.
Press the light keypad to turn the interior oven light ON and
OFF whenever the oven door is closed.
The oven light is located at the upper left rear wall of the
oven interior and is covered with a glass shield held by a
wire holder. The glass shield must be in place whenever
the oven is in use.
2. Set the temperature to 550°F (287°C) by pressing and
holdingthe A keypad.
.
Within 2 seconds, press and hold bake keypad until the
2 digit display appears. Release bake keypad. The
display now indicates the amount of degrees offset
between the original factory temperature setting and
the current temperature setting. If the oven control has
the original factory calibration, the display will read "0."
.
The temperature can now be adjusted up or down 35°F
(19°C), in 5°F increments by pressing and holding the
or V keypad. Adjust until the desired amount of
offset appears in the display. When lowering the oven
temperature, a minus sign (-) will appear before the
number to indicate that the oven will be cooler by the
displayed amount of degrees.

When you have made the desired adjustment, press
clear off keypad to go back to the time of day display.
• Any oven temperature offset made will not affect the
broil or clean feature operating temperatures.
• If the oven display has been set to display Celsius,
adjustments made will be in 1°C increments with each
