This appliance is for household use. Any servicing other than cleaning and user maintenance should be performed by an authorized service representative.
• Do not immerse base in water or try to disassemble.
• To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not attempt to open the base. No user serviceable parts inside. Repair should be done by authorized service personnel only!
• Check voltage to be sure that the voltage indicated on the name plate on the bottom of unit agrees with your voltage.
• Keep your hands and the cord away from hot parts of the appliance during operation.
• Never overfill glass container with green coffee beans. Fill only to “FILL TO HERE” indicator on glass container or use 2 scoops (43cc) measuring cup supplied with unit.
Wash glass roasting chamber in warm soapy water with dishcloth or sponge. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
CAUTION: to reduce the risk of electric shock, do not immerse roaster base, its cord or plug in water or other liquid.
Your Fresh Roast coffee bean roaster is designed to roast approximately 3 ounces of coffee beans at one time. 3 ounces of roasted beans will yield 14-16 cups of coffee.
Fill 43cc measuring cup to top twice or fill to the “FILL TO HERE” mark on the metal band around the glass roasting chamber.
Never overfill glass container with beans as poor results will occur.
Place glass chamber on base unit; place basket and top on glass chamber.
Turn timer knob to 4-minute mark. Beans will roast 4 minutes, then cool for 2 minutes.
Allow beans to cool and machine to turn off before removing top, basket and glass chamber.
When machine shuts off your beans are ready to grind and brew.
If you find coffee beans are not dark enough (1) Preheat roaster approximately 2 minutes before adding beans, (2) Add 1 minute to timed roasting sequence before timer reaches cool cycle.
CAUTION: over-roasting beans can create smoke. If this occurs, turn timer knob to “COOL” zone.
If you find coffee beans are too dark, deduct 1 minute from timer roasting sequence, do not preheat roaster.
During roasting you will hear the beans crackle at approximately 2-1/2 minutes. At approximately 4-5 minutes you will hear a rapid crackle. At this point the timer knob should be in the “COOL” zone. If the timer knob is not in the “COOL” zone manually advance it.
Before each use, always empty the chaff* from the basket and clean screens with a soft brush.
*Chaff is the outer layer of the coffee bean.
