Introduction

Now there’s a fun way to make crossword puzzles
less puzzling. With your Crosswords Puzzle
Solver you can . . .

• find possible crossword answers
when you know only a few letters,

• find possible crossword answers
when you know most of the
letters,

• find phrases when you know only
one word or a few letters,

• find more possible answers by
changing one or more letters,

• jumble letters to form words for
games such as Scrabble

The Crosswords Puzzle Solver can’t solve all
your crossword puzzles, but by combining your
knowledge with its 250,000 word crossword
answer list from Merriam-Webster
many more answers than you find now.

Getting Started

If you are using this product for the first time,
follow these steps to install the batteries, turn
the product on and adjust the screen contrast.

1. Slide the battery cover off in the
direction of the triangle.

2. Place the four AAA batteries inside the
case, following the diagram.

3. Replace the battery cover.

4. Press ON/OFF.

A brief demonstration appears.

5. Press CLEAR to stop the demo.

Finding Letters

Crosswords helps you find answers to cross­word puzzles by filling in missing letters. Just

Don’t worry if you forget to turn Cross­words off. If no key is touched within two
minutes, Crosswords will shut itself off.

Finding Parts of Words

T o find a series of missing letters in a word, type

Finding Phrases

Limited Warranty (U.S. only)

Franklin Electronic Publishers, Inc., (“Franklin”) warrants to the end user this product will be free from
defects in material and workmanship for a period of ONE YEAR from the date of original retail
purchase, as evidenced by sales receipt. On discovery of a defect, the end user must return this product
(transportation charges prepaid) either to the dealer from whom it was purchased or directly to Franklin
at the address given below. Each product returned must include the user’s name, address, and telephone
number, as well as a brief description of the nature of the defect and a copy of the sales receipt as proof of
the date of the original retail purchase. Franklin will, at its option, repair or replace any product at no
further charge to the end user on determination by Franklin, in its sole discretion, that the product was
defective and that such defect arose within the duration of this limited warranty.

This warranty does not apply if, in the sole discretion of Franklin, the product has been tampered with,
