SECURITY AND THE ENVIRONMENT
ELECTRICAL SECURITY Check that the current in the mains connection where the machine is to be installed corresponds to the power supply of the machine. To avoid damaging the equipment, electrical shocks, fire or physical injury when you connect or disconnect the equipment from the power supply, pull the plug firmly out of the mains socket holding the plug, never the
cable. Always do this with dry hands. Keep the power supply cable far from sources of heat. Do not put heavy objects on top of it or change it. Clean dust and dirt off the power supply cable regularly. Do not open the machine; you could get an electric shock.
CAUTION While installing the machine, make sure it is switched off and unplugged. Do not open the machine. Touching the internal parts is dangerous and you could receive an electric shock. The machine must not be splashed or dripped on. Never place recipients with liquid inside on the machine. Do not place anything inside the machine.
LOCATION Place the equipment on a horizontal surface with enough space around it to allow ventilation. Avoid direct sunlight, heat sources and excessive dust.
Do not place the machine near magnetic fields or static electricity. Do not use surfaces which vibrate or receive impact. Do not pile machines on top of one another.
VENTILATION Never block or cover the ventilation slits on the machine. Do not expose it to direct sunlight or place it near sources of heat.
PERIODS OF INACTIVITY When the machine is not going to be used for a long period of time, disconnect it from the mains. If you are using an adapter, take into account that it will continue using electricity even if the machine is switched off. If it is not going to be used for a long period of time, disconnect it from the mains.
THE ENVIRONMENT To save energy, switch the machine off when you are not going to use it for a long time. The machine could contain substances that are harmful to the environment or human health. To minimize the effect of these substances the machine must be correctly managed and recycled when you decide to dispose of it. When you dispose of it remember: it cannot be thrown into a conventional rubbish bin. If it contains or uses batteries, these must be disposed of separately. The machine (without batteries) must be disposed of correctly. Put it in a container specially intended for the collection of electronic and electrical appliances, at the dump or hand it over to the dealer when you purchase
similar equipment, so that the dealer can dispose of it correctly (at no added cost).

CONNECTION
INSTALLATION
When you install the system, you must choose somewhere with plenty of ventilation. A distance of 10 cm
must be left between the sides and the wall or the cabinet and 15 cm between the top of the equipment and
the cabinet.
Before connecting the equipment to the mains, make the connections with the audio sources and the
speakers.
EN
BASIC CONNECTIONS
Use the appropriate cable to connect the audio sources to the corresponding audio input. In the majority of cases the cable must have codified red and white RCA connectors. Example of a DVD connection:
1. Connect the DVD, OUT L and R audio output to the amplifier, DVD L and R audio input.
2. Connect the DVD video output to a TV monitor.
Example of a CD connection:
1. Connect the CD, OUT L and R audio output to the amplifier CD L and R audio input.
Take the following indications into account:
- Connect all the components together before connecting them to the mains.
- Before making any connection or disconnection, switch the amplifier off.
- Make sure that the colour code on the amplifier terminals coincides with that of the connectors and cables.
To avoid noise and interference follow the indications below:
- Insert the connectors firmly into the connector input.
- After connecting the audio system components lay the cables along the sides and the back panel of the
amplifier. Do not place them underneath the amplifier.
- The power supply and audio cables must be kept apart. Do not wind the power supply cables up.
- 9-
EN
SPEAKER CONNECTION
SPEAKER CABLE CONNECTION
1. Loosen the connectors from the speaker output.
2. Insert the stripped end of the cable (remove approximately 5 mm of the insulation from the cable).
3. Tighten the connectors from the speaker output.
4. The connection can also be made with banana plugs.
When you connect the speakers make sure you respect the polarity between the speaker cables and
connection terminals (the + speaker terminal is connected to the + amplifier terminal). If the polarity is inverted in one of the speakers, the sound could be distorted due to bass cancelation. If you use the stripped end cable connection be especially careful with stripped cable not sticking out and
touching the amplifier chassis. LOCATION OF SPEAKERS
- The speakers must have a distance of 2 or 3 m between them. If you place them closer together or further
apart the sound could be distorted.
- To achieve a stereo sound image, the speakers must be placed at an angle of 45° from the perpendicular
of the optimum listening point.
AERIAL CONNECTION
Connect the AM and FM aerials to the AM and FM terminals on the back panel. The aerials make it possible to
receive a clear signal. The AM aerial is shaped like a ribbon. It has to be unrolled
and then connected to the AM pressure terminals. Press the terminal tab, insert the cable and then let go of
the tab so that it is connected properly. Connect the FM aerial to the Coaxial FM connector. After connecting the aerials extend them and adjust their
position to achieve optimal signal reception.
When all the connections have been made, connect the sound equipment to the mains. Firstly, switch on the
sound sources and lastly, the amplifier.
When you switch off the equipment, do the same but in reverse order.
