1.1 ADVICE AND WARNINGS
The appliance can reach very high temperatures in some parts. Please pay due attention and
use suitable protection.
Place the appliance on a strong and stable horizontal surface. Otherwise, the appliance may
fall or cause boiling pots to tip over, with the risk of burns and/or bruising.
Do not use deformed pans that are unstable on the grill. Do not let children or incapable people use the appliance. After using the appliance, check that the knob is on the off position (indicated by the symbol
).
When not in use, it is advisable to close the gas line faucet. In the event that the flame accidentally extinguishes, wait at least one minute before you
turn it on again.
Check that there is always suitable ventilation, even with the help of vacuum systems with
forced circulation.
In the case of prolonged use, provide additional ventilation (for example open a window). In case of malfunction, please contact technical support. The manufacturer cannot be held responsible for damaged caused by improper or incorrect
use of the appliance.
Have a qualified technician to check the gas system once a year. The structure of Elios is entirely made of cast iron and therefore may be heavy: Lift with
care.
Each time the Lpg/methane hose nozzle is taken off or put on, check if the seal ring is
in its place, in the right position and it is not damaged or worn.
The pots that can be used with the Elios PLUS cooker must have a minimum diameter of 18 cm and a maximum diameter of 50 cm. Do not use pots with a concave or convex bottom. To use wok pans, use only the model Elios WOK which, besides having a dedicated support ring, is also equipped with a vertical flame burner. The wok must have a diameter of minimum 30 cm and maximum 50 cm.
Small imperfections and roughness of the surface are characteristics of cast iron, a material chosen for its strength and durability, and therefore are to be considered normal.

1.2 FIRST USE
- Check that the cooker has not been damaged during transport.
- Place Elios in a room suitable for "A1" type appliances (see paragraph 2.2 for further information).
- Contact a qualified technician for the connection of the gas pipe to the hose connection and let him read chapter 2 "instructions for the installer".
- insert the burner (point 3 figure 1.A) in its place (point 8 figure 1.A) making sure that the guide screw is aligned with the venturi groove.
- Finally, insert the gas ring making sure that the plug fits with the hole of the burner if you have the Wok model or the hole of the gas ring with the plug of the burner if you have the PLUS model.
CAUTION
The incorrect positioning of the burner or of the gas ring may cause an uncontrolled release of gas, thus a danger to persons and things.
1.3 USE
= Closed faucet
= Pilot flame
= Maximum capacity
= Minimum capacity
Figure 1.B
Make sure that the faucet of your gas line is open and that the knob of the cooker is
in position ●.
Push down the knob slightly and turn to position . Keeping the knob pressed all the way down, turn on the pilot flame located in the
rectangular slot of the burner (point 7 figure 1.A) with the aid of a flame.
Keep the knob down for a few seconds to allow the flame to heat the sensor (point 6 figure
1.A) which will open the safety valve.
If releasing the knob, the flame does not remain lit, repeat the operation.
N.B. When using for the first time or when using after a long time, the pilot flame will take longer to light because, before the gas arrives, all the air has to come out of the tube.
8
To light the main burner, slightly press down the knob a second time and turn it counter-
clockwise towards the large flame symbol. In this way you will have the maximum capacity. By pressing and turning the knob clockwise again, you can adjust the flame down to the minimum capacity represented by the small flame symbol.
You can turn the burner off leaving the pilot flame on by turning the knob to position . To turn off the pilot flame completely, press the knob slightly and turn it to position ●.
If you turn it off accidentally, the safety valve interrupts the gas flow after about 40 seconds. To restore the flame, check that there are no obstructions and make sure the room is properly ventilated. Then repeat the start-up procedure.
1.4 CLEANING
WARNING: before cleaning, wait until all the components have cooled down and close the gas line faucet.
To clean Elios correctly, use only mild soap or products that are suitable for enamel surfaces. Do not use abrasive products. Dry with a soft cloth. Despite the anti-acid treatment of the surfaces, acidic products such as lemon juice, tomato sauce, vinegar or similar may damage the enamel making it dull. Check regularly that all the holes of the gas ring are free from dirt or foreign bodies (in the case of frequent use, clean it at least once a week). Keep the safety valve sensor clean (point 6 figure 1.A) using a damp cloth.
You can remove the liquid-containing basin for easier cleaning. To do this, remove the burner by sliding it out and unscrew the three screws that secure the basin (point 2 figure 1.A) with a 3 mm hexagonal spanner. After drying the basin replace it, paying attention when positioning the cavity of the basin onto the pilot, and fasten it with the three screws. Reposition the burner making sure that the guide screw is aligned with the venturi groove.
CAUTION
Failure to tighten the three screws on the basin could result in dangerous situations for the user.
9
2. INSTRUCTION FOR THE INSTALLER
CAUTION: the following procedure requires specific skills and adjustments while the flame is on may cause damage to persons or things if not carried out with due skill and competence. The modification of the appliance on part of unauthorized people, will invalidate any liability of the manufacturer in case of malfunction and/or damage caused by the malfunction of the cooker.
The cooker comes with an LPG or methane gas predisposition (this is specified in the plate located under Elios). The appliance comes with the nozzle to be able to use the other gas. You may request the nozzles for other types of gas.
2.1 LAWS, TECHNICAL REGULATIONS AND GUIDELINES
- Comply with all applicable regulations in your country.
- Standards for Accident Prevention
- you must always apply a cut-off valve between the appliance and the gas line.
2.2 FUME EXHAUST FOR "A" TYPE APPLIANCES
Elios is an A1 type appliance so it needs to be placed in a well ventilated area to prevent the concentration of substances that are harmful to health. The area can be ventilated naturally by means of permanent openings on the walls, such as doors,
windows (minimum opening of 100 cm2) or ventilation ducts (minimum opening of 150 cm2), or it
can be forced by using electric fans (minimum capacity 15,48 m3/h). Make sure that ventilation is suitable and that it complies with all regulations in force.
2.3 INSTALLATION OF ELIOS
Use only the gas that is compatible with the cooker. Place Elios no less than 20 cm from the walls.
- check that the gas line solenoid valve is shut.
- Connect the appliance to the gas system using rigid metal tubes or flexible stainless steel tubes in accordance with applicable regulations. If you use flexible tubes, check that they are not crushed or deformed. Connect the gas to the hose connection (point 4 figure 2.A) supplied by means of a tube clamp (or other method accepted by applicable laws) checking the presence of the seal in the hose connection.
- With a solution of soap and water, check that there are no leaks. If there are leaks, you will be able to see some bubbles.
- If the burner is powered with gas bottle and it has a variable flow regulator, the minimum regulation must be set following the procedure of paragraph 2.4 under point 15.
CAUTION: never check for leaks with the use of fire!

2.4 CONVERSION ELIOS FROM LPG TO METHANE AND VICE VERSA
1 = Gas nozzle 2 = Cap securing screw 3 = Air regulation cap 4 = Hose connection
Figure 2.A
TO CHANGE THE FEED GAS OF YOUR ELIOS, YOU CAN ASK FOR DIFFERENT NOZZLES WHICH ARE AVAILABLE AS OPTION.
CAUTION: after each conversion, you must replace the plate that identifies the type of gas. The
replacement plate is in the same bag as the nozzle and must by stuck in the place of the old plate. The latter is located in the support bracket of the of the metal burner block and can be identified by looking at Elios from the bottom.
1. Close the gas line faucet.
2. Remove the grill or the wok-supporting ring and remove the burner (point 2 figure 1.A).
3. With a 3 mm hexagonal spanner, unscrew the three screws on the basin and remove it (point
2 figure 1.A).
4. Remove the hose connection (point 4 figure 2.A), remove the seal inside and place it inside
the hose connection supplied in the bag (the LPG one has a tight hole, while the methane one has a large hole), paying attention to the state of wear of the seal. If necessary, replace it with a suitable one.
5. Unscrew screw 2 of figure 2.A with a 4 mm hexagonal spanner in order to unlock the air
regulation cap (point 3 figure 2.A).
6. Move the cap so as to have as much space possible to replace the gas nozzle (if it does not
move, simply turn it a bit).
7. Unscrew the gas nozzle to be replaced with an 11 mm spanner (point 1 figure 2.A) and
screw on the new one suitable for the gas you want to use. (each gas nozzle is characterized by an engraved number which identifies the type of gas for which it is designed. See table 1 for the number suitable for the gas type).
8. Close the cap until you have a distance equal to X (see table 1 for the measurement and
11
figure 2.A for the distance) and tighten screw 2 of figure 2.A so as to block the cap.
9. Turn the cooker upside down and unscrew the nickel-plated screw with an 11 mm
spanner (point 1 figure 2.B) also using a 13 mm spanner or pliers inserted in point 2 figure
2.B to hold the pilot group.
10. Once you have removed the nickel-plated screw, you will be able to see the back of the gas
pilot nozzle (point 3 figure 2.B): unscrew it with a screwdriver and replace it with the one supplied in the bag whilst checking that the spring inside the pilot has not come out (each gas nozzle is characterized by an engraved number which identifies the type of gas for which it is designed. See table 1 for the number suitable for the gas type). After you have screwed on the new gas pilot nozzle all the way down, replace the nickelplated screw and tighten well using a 13 mm spanner to prevent the rotation of the pilot.
11. Reposition Elios and after connecting it to the power system, open the gas line faucet.
12. With a solution of soap and water, check that there are no leaks near the hose connection. If
there are leaks, you will be able to see some bubbles.
13. Turn on only the pilot flame and adjust the air by turning the air regulation ferrule
(figure 2.C) using a small screwdriver until you get the desired flame.
CAUTION: this procedure is dangerous. Be very careful to turn the knob ONLY in
pilot position!
14. After turning off the pilot flame and closing the faucet, reposition the basin and after
securing it with the three screws, position the burner making sure that the guide screw is aligned with the venturi groove.
15. Re-open the gas line faucet.
16. After turning on the main burner, turn the knob to minimum. Remove the knob and, using a
small screwdriver, adjust the minimum by means of the screw in figure 2.D until the flame is blue in colour and of the right height.
17. When you turn the knob from minimum to maximum, even suddenly, the flame must not
turn off. Otherwise, the minimum must be adjusted. After turning off the pilot flame and closing the faucet, reposition the basin and after securing it with the three screws, position the burner making sure that the guide screw is aligned with the venturi groove.
18. Re-open the gas line faucet.
19. After turning on the main burner, turn the knob to minimum. Remove the knob and, using a
small screwdriver, adjust the minimum by means of the screw in figure 2.D until the flame is blue in colour and of the right height.
