Filter Cleaning
1. The RP 4000 has a reverse pulse system that operates every 12-15 seconds.
2. In normal operation the filters will be sufficiently cleaned with the reverse pulse cleaning system.
3. If this system fails to clean the cartridges your filter cleaning system may not be operating as well as it should.
4. The most common problems associated with the filters not being cleaned are as follows.
a. Low compressed air pressure. Check for
i. Tank Drain ball valve open (compressor runs continuously)
ii. Leak in the air hoses. (compressor runs continuously) iii. Compressor Pressure Switch not set correctly iv. Safety valve stuck open
v. Dust blowdown trigger open or leaking. Disconnect the hose and check
pressure is building up
vi. Compressor fault
5. Dust overloading. This causes the filters to become completely blocked and the pulse can’t work properly. Open the air bleed valve and run the machine with the inlet open.
6. Above all please contact your supplier if you have a concern.

Operating Instructions
1. Wear clothes suitable for the job and for the work place including, safety shoes, hard hat, hearing protection, non-fogging vented safety goggles, and dust respirator suitable for dust.
2. Be sure all equipment is tested and tagged prior to use on any job.
3. Connect hose to the dust extractor via a suitable 75mm dust hose with CamLoc fitting. If 50mm hose is more practical, use the smaller hose after more than 5 meters of 3” hose. This is to reduce the speed of the air/dust coming into the RP 4000.
4. Connect the RP 4000 to suitable power outlet. This is normally 32A. If you need to connect using extension cords please consult your supplier to confirm the best size conductor to use.
5. Keep the RP 4000 clear of drainage pits and grates or any such hazard. Failure to comply could result in bodily injury and or could damage the RP 4000 or property.
6. Do not attempt to make any adjustments while the RP 4000 is in operation. Any adjustments must only be performed when the RP 4000 is stopped and power disconnected.
7. Drain the Compressor Tank at the end of every job. This is important so as to clear the tank of water especially if the unit is operating in humid environments.
8. WARNING! Breathable silica may be generated by use and maintenance of this the RP 4000. Silica can cause severe and permanent lung damage, cancer, and or other serious diseases. Do not breathe the dust. Do not rely on your sight or smell to determine if dust is in the air. Silica may be in the air without a visible dust cloud. If air monitoring for silica is not provided by your employer at your work site, you must wear appropriate respiratory protection when operating or maintaining this equipment. Consult your employer for proper respiratory protection.

8. Avoid any contact with any rotating parts or driven parts.
9. Never use equipment that has not been tested and tagged (including cords).
10. Before connecting the RP 4000 to power, check the condition of all power leads and cables on, or used in conjunction with the RP 4000. DO NOT USE the RP 4000 if any faults cuts, wear marks, bare wires out of plugs or sockets are identified. Get qualified persons to repair and re-tag it as required by regulations in your country.

Problem Solving
This Is a Guide Only. Consult Your Supplier for Your Application
PROBLEM
CAUSE
REMEDY
EXPLANATION
The RP 4000 will not start / run.
No power is present at cable PowerPoint.
Check the power is present with another tool.
Using another tool confirms power is present
An overload has tripped
Have a qualified person check the machine for faults and reset using the blue button
There is always a reason for the trip. You are best to find out why before proceeding.
The RP 4000 is not sucking at all.
The bucket or bag is not on or fitted correctly.
Make sure the bucket is correctly positioned on the main bowl and firmly against the seal.
If the bucket is not against the seal firmly air can come in and reduce the air flow and or suction.
The seal is missing at the bucket.
Check the seal by eye and feel around the seal area for leaks and replace or re fit.
If the seals are not correctly fitted or missing the air flow and or suction will be greatly reduced.
The filters are blocked.
Check the air compressor is working and the pressure gauge is showing at least 80 PSI
The tank needs to be pressurized for the pulse to work.
The reverse pulse system not working correctly.
Have Qualified persons check the RP 4000 system and rectify the problem by replacing the faulty part.
Restores the reverse pulse to its original performance and then it can effectively clean the cartridges.
The RP 4000 seems to have lost suction over a period of time on the job.
The dust bin is over full.
Empty the dust bin.
The RP 2000 and 3000 have a cyclone built into the bowl system to reduce the load on the filter cartridges; If the bin is full it can’t work properly thus the filters block up.
