Importantinstallationupdate

Sincethepublicationandprintingofthemanualsuppliedwithyourcamera,themountingprocedureforthecamera
haschanged,followingadditionalinstallationfeedbackfromRaymarine'sdealernetwork.Thefollowingmounting

procedureMUSTbefollowedwhenmountingyourcamera,andsupersedesthemountingproceduresdetailed
intheprintedmanualsuppliedwithyourcamera.

Installationxings

Thefollowingxingsaresuppliedwithyourcamera.Thislistsupersedesthexingsinformationprovidedinthe
printedmanualsuppliedwithyourcamera.Allothersuppliedpartsremainthesameasthoselistedinthemanual.

1.Flatnuts(M6,A4stainless)x2.Mustonlybeusedtoassistinwindingthestudsintothecamera’sbase.

2.Domenuts(M6,A4stainless)x3.Ifneeded,ttostudstocoverexposedends.DoNOTusewithriser.

3.Threadedstud(M6,60mm,A4stainless)x3.

4.Flatwashers(M6,A4stainless)x3.

5.Nylocnuts(M6,A4stainless)x3.

ApplyingLoctite

Beforeinsertingthethreadedstudsintothebaseofthecamera,youMUSTrstapply“Loctite243”threadlocker(or
equivalent),toall3studs.

Important:Ifthesuppliedthreadedstudsarenotlongenoughtoaccommodateallthexingsandthethicknessof
themountingsurface,obtainlongerreplacementmarine-gradestainlesssteelM6threadedstuds(e.g.316/A4).

1.Cleanandde-greasethe3suppliedthreadedstudsandthecamerabaseplate'stappedthreads.

2.Allowtodrybeforeproceedingtothenextstep.

3.Applygenerousamountsof"Loctite243"threadlocker(orequivalent)toeachofthestuds.

4.Insertthethreadedstudsintothecamera'sbaseplateimmediately,ensuringsufcientthreadprotrudes,toallowthe
ttingofwasherandnuts.Ifnecessary,xthesuppliedatnuts(x2)(temporarily)tothestuds,toassistyou

inwindingthestudsfullyintothecamera'sthreads.Discardatnutsoncedone.

5.RemoveanyexcessLoctite.AnyremainingLoctitemustbethoroughlycleanedfromthestudsandbase.

6.AllowtheLoctiteonthethreadedstudstocurefor24hours,beforeproceedingtothenextstep.

Note:Ifusingtherisertomountthecamera,doNOTallowanyLoctitetocomeintocontactwiththeriser,as
theLoctitemaydamagetherisermaterial.

Mountingthecamera

ThefollowingmountingprocedureMUSTbefollowedwhenmountingyourcamera,andsupersedesthemounting
proceduresdetailedintheprintedmanualsuppliedwithyourcamera.

1.Ensurethatyou’vecarefullyfollowedtheinstructionsprovidedinthe“ApplyingLoctite”sectiontoinsertthe

studscorrectlyintothecamerabase.

2.Usethesuppliedmountingtemplatetodrilltheholesforthecamerabase(orriser,ifused),andthecables
(asrequired).

3.Placethegasketonthebottomofthecamera,carefullyaligningthegasketholeswiththethreadedstuds.

Note:Ifmountingthecameraballdown,doNOTtthegasketbetweenthecameraandtheriser.

4.Optionally ,(temporarily)securetherisertothecamerawithafewhandturnsofthenylocnutsonthestuds,to
preventtheriserfromfallingwhileyouconnectthecables.Checkthatthecamera'sgasketremainsrmlyinplace.

Note:Observethecameraforwardmarkingonthetopsurfaceoftheriser.Y oumustensurethattheriserismounted
sothatthecameraisorientedproperly,relativetothevessel'sbow.

5.Connectthecablestothecamera.Ifusingtheriser,loopthecablesroundwithintheriserbasesothattheycanbe
threadedthroughthebottomoftheriser,andintothecableroutingholedrilledinthemountingsurface.

6.Securethecameraassemblytothemountingsurface(orriser,ifused),usingthesuppliedatwashersandnyloc
nuts.Paycarefulattentiontothecorrectarrangementofthexings,asshownintheimageabove.

Note:Ifyouarereplacinganexistingcamerainstallationorhavepurchasedanolderriser,doNOTusethe
existingspringwasherssuppliedwiththecameraorriser.

7.Tightenthenylocnutstoatorqueof5.0-6.0N·m(3.7-4.4lbf·ft).

8.Fitthesuppliedbasesealtotheriser.

9.Securetherisertothemountingsurfaceusingscrewssuitableforthemountingsurfacematerialandthickness.
