Product Data Sheet
FLEX TPO SQUARE TUBE WRAP
DESCRIPTION
Flex TPO Square Tube Wraps are fabricated using 45 mil reinforced Flex TPO membrane. A split and
overlap tab are incorporated into these parts to allow the flashings to be opened and wrapped around a
square penetration with an obstruction. Manufactured in four sizes: 3”x3”, 4”x4”, 5”x5” and 6”x6”.
PROPERTIES
Sizes 3”x3”, 4”x4”, 5”x5”, 6”x6”
Packaging 8 units per carton
Weight approximately 5 lbs.
Material 45 mil reinforced thermoplastic polyolefin
Color white
CAUTIONS AND WARNINGS:
Ø Remove all lead and other flashing.
Ø Temperature of pipe must not exceed 160°F (71°C).
Ø Install a minimum of four fastening plates around pipe penetrations. Position
Ø fastening plates around the penetration so the plates are covered by the pipe-seal
Ø flange. A minimum 1-1/2 inch wide weld must be maintained around the outer
Ø edge of the flange beyond the plates. If fastening plates cannot be installed in a
Ø manner to allow a minimum 1-1/2 inch weld, the plates must be placed outside the
Ø pipe-seal flange and covered with a reinforced Flex overlay.
Ø Store pipe Boot in a cool, shaded area and cover with light-colored, breathable,
Ø waterproof tarpaulins. Flex TPO Square Tubing Wraps or membrane that have been
Ø exposed to the weather for approximately 7 days or longer prior to use must be
Ø prepared with Flex Weathered Membrane Cleaner prior to hot air welding.
INSTALLATION:
1. Clean the penetration to eliminate any rust or scale and wipe with a splice wipe saturated with
weathered membrane cleaner.
2. Open Square Tubing Wrap by pulling apart the tack welds located on the vertical leg of the
flashing.
3. Wrap the Square Tubing Wrap around the pipe until the vertical leg is tight against the outside
diameter of the pipe.
4. Mark the tubing around the top of the Square Tubing Wrap.

5. Remove the Square Tubing Wrap from around the pipe.
6. Prime a 3” wide area of the tubing directly below the mark as well as the corresponding area of the
Square Tubing Wrap with TPO primer. Wrap a piece of 3” Flex seam tape around the penetration at
the mark made previously. Tape should overlap 1”.
7. Wrap the Square Tubing Wrap back around the penetration until the vertical leg is tight against the
penetration. Use a 2” roller to press the membrane into the tape.
8. Tack weld the back edge of the Square Tubing Wrap’s vertical leg ensuring that good contact is
maintained between the pipe seal and the pipe. This process will hold the pipe-seal in
place.
9. Heat-weld the entire width of the vertical overlap. Hand roll against the outer surface
of the pipe to create the pressure necessary to achieve an acceptable weld.
10. Heat-weld the base flange to the deck membrane and complete the horizontal overlap
weld.
11. Apply a bead of approve sealant caulk at the top of the tubing wrap to cover the top edge of the
Square Tubing Wrap and the sealant tape.
12. Apply Flex TPO Cut-Edge Sealant to all edges of the Square Tubing Wrap that are located on the
horizontal plane. Do not apply the sealant to vertical surfaces.
