BATTERY INSTALLATION
Unscrew and lift cover away from products. Install batteries as indicated inside the battery compartment. For longer life use only alkaline batteries. If this toy begins to operate erratically, you may need to reset the electronics. Remove the batteries from the toy and replace it. Requires 3 "AA" (LR6) and 3 "AAA" (LR03) batteries.
BATTERY SAFETY INFORMATION
In exceptional circumstances batteries may leak fluids that can cause a chemical burn injury or ruin your product. To avoid battery leakage:
• Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged.
• Rechargeable batteries are to be removed from the product before being charged.
• Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision.
• Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries.
• Do not mix old and new batteries.

SYMPTOM SOLUTION
Engine drives slowly
Engine does not respond to the remote controller
The wheels on the engine or attached cars may be dirty. Wipe them with a clean cloth.
Re-start the engine by switching it "OFF (
shuts off automatically.
• Battery power in the remote controller or in the engine may be weak. Replace ALL THREE batteries in controller and engine with fresh, alkaline batteries.
• You may be beyond the maximum range of the remote controller (about 12 feet).
• You may not have a clear path between the engine and the remote controller. This toy works best when there are no obstructions between the engine and the remote. Operate the toy by holding the controller 2-feet minimum horizontally above the train.
• Try dimming the lights in the room. Bright sunlight or fluorescent lights may effect the range of the remote controller.
NOTE: (i) Remote control engines only operate with the TrackMaster™ remote. They do not move on their own. (ii) Interference may occur and performance start to degrade if more than two characters are used at the same time in the same vicinity.
