o Sufficient air is needed for proper combustion and exhausting of gases through the flue
(chimney) of fuel burning equipment to prevent back dra#ing. Follow the heating equipment
manufacturer's guideline and safety standards such as thosepublished bythe National
Fire Protection Association (NFPA),theAmerican Bodety for Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (tASHRA£)and local code authorities.
o Whencutting or drilling into wall or coifing, do not damage electrical wiring or other
hidden utfides.
o Ducted fans must always be vented to the outdoors° o Useon_ymetalductwor£ o WARNING:Toreduce risk of fire and to properly exhaust air, be sure to duct air outside°
- Do not vent exhaust air into spaces within walls or ceilings or into attics crawl spaces

WARNING - to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock or injury to persons,

o Do not use this fan with any solid state speed control device° o Use this unit oMy in the manner intended by the manufacturer. If you have questions, contact
the manufacturer. For residential use onlyo
o Before servicing or cleaning unit, switch power off at service panel and lock service panel to
prevent power from being switched on accidentat!y. When the service disconnecting means cannot be locked, securely fasten a prominent warning device, such as a tag to the service panel°

WARNING - to reduce the risk of a range top grease fire:
+ Never leave surface units unattended at high settings. Boitovers cause smoking and greasy
spittovers that may ignite. Heat oils dow!y on tow or medium settings.
+ Always turn hood on when cooking at high heat or when ftambeing food (i.e. Crepes Suzette,
Cherries Jubilee., Peppercorn Beef Ftamb@+ + Clean ventilating fans frequendyo Grease should not be allowed to accumulate on fan or filter. + Use proper pan size. Always use cookware appropriate for the size of the surface element.
WARNING - to reduce the risk of injury to persons in the event of a range top
grease fire, observe the following:
+ Smother flames with a close-fitting lid, cookie sheet or metal tray, then turn off the burner.
Be careful to prevent burns° if the flames do not go out immediately, evacuate and call the
fire department°
+ Never pick up a flaming pan - you may be burned.
+ Do not use water, including wet dishctothes or towels - a viotent steam explosion wifl result. + Use an extinguisher only if:
+. You know you have a Class ABC extinguisher, and you already know how to operate it.
+. The fire is small and contained in the area where it started. +. The Fire Department is being called.
+. You can fight the fire with your back to an exit.

General indkations
o Before installing and using the hood, be sure
that the voltage (V) and the frequency (Hz)
indicated on the feature pBate match the voBtage
and frequency at the installation site,
o The feature pBate and technical data are shown
on the inside of the product,
o This hood is equipped with an adiustable
chimney cover which allows it to be adiusted to the height of the ceiling,

Wall mounting
1 Please remove the polyfoam protection piece
(from behind the motor) before use,
2 Connect the outlet adapter supplied with
the hood (6" diameter) to an exhaust duct connected directly to the outside (Fig2).
s Screw on the connection box following (Fig2a)
with the two 1/d'x 1%?'screws supplied in the
box of accessories,
4 The accessories needed to install the hood are
inside the hood.
S Drill holes inthewall using a _%4"dril[ bit.
_s The anchors and screws needed to hang the
hood are contained in the bag of accessories supplied with the hood.
7 This fan shall be mounted a minimum of 22"
above the heat source,

2 Using approved wiring connectors, connect the power conductors to the conductors for the fan:
black to black and white to white. S Connect the grounding wire (green or bare) to the Ground conductor (green) of the fan
distribution box.

Drill hoBesin the wall, pBaceanchors in the hoBes and attach support C with screws (Fig.4a). Phce tube A with the extendiMe part S hanging on the inside, making sure that flange D is
correctly lodged in the support c (Fig.4a).
Next, secure support Eto the upper end of the wall, making sure that it is properly aligned with the extendible tube. Extend the movable part of tube S until it reaches support E and connect to the support with the two side screws F (FigAb).
