FINOHIT HOTBASE
ENG Instructions for Use
1 Intended purpose
Denture base materials are intended for the fabrication of splints, partial dentures, full dentures and model dentures.
2 Description of product and users
of acrylic dentures using the ask technique.
2.2 Users Denture base materials are used by laboratory technicians in a dental laboratory.
3 Composition
• Powder: Pearl polymerisate made from polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) pigments, initiators
• Liquid: Methyl methacrylate, tetramethylene dimethacrylate, initiators, stabilisers
• FINOHIT HOTBASE is cadmium-free.
4 Indications
• For the fabrication of partial and full
dentures using the ow technique.
• For the production of splints: Mouthguards Bite splints
5 Contraindications
• Do not use in the case of a known allergy to one of the components.
6 Warnings
• Liquid: Contains methyl methacrylate, tetramethylene dimethacrylate.
• Hazard. Liquid and vapour readily inammable. Causes skin irritation. May cause allergic skin reactions. May irritate airways.
• Powder: Contains benzoyl peroxide. May
cause allergic skin reactions. Harmful to aquatic organisms, with long-term effects.
7 Safety instructions
• Liquid: Keep away from heat/sparks/open ames/hot surfaces. No smoking. Use explosion-proof electrical/ventilating/lighting/ equipment. Avoid breathing vapours/spray. IF ON SKIN (or hair): Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Rinse skin withwater [or shower]. Store locked up. Dispose of contents/container in accordance with local/regional/national/international
regulations.
• Powder: avoid release to the Environment.
8 Interactions with other medicinal
products
The dentist should consider known interactions and cross-reactions of the medical
product with other materials already in the
patient's mouth before using the product.
9 Application / Preparation
9.1 Mixing ratio
• 2.5 parts by weight powder, 1 part by weight liquid. For a total prosthesis 25 g powder and 10 g liquid are needed.
• Veins can be included, if desired.
• Please observe separate manufacturer’s
instructions.
9.2 Production of partial and full dentures as well as implant-borne appliances and model casting completions using
the ow techniques
9.2.1 Preparatory work
Produce the plaster cast and wax-up of the
teeth as usual.
The fabricated tooth set in wax is secured with plaster or silicone (matrix/ask). The wax is then eliminated as usual.
To prevent articial teeth from breaking off, they must be roughened, have undercuts made, and be wetted with monomer or a
suitable bonder.
The surfaces of the plaster models are
separated with an alginate separating agent according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
9.2.2 Production using the ow technique
After adding the powder to the liquid, FINO-
HIT HOTBASE is homogeneously spatulated
in a mixing cup for 30 seconds.
After a dough dwelling time of approx. 10 min. the acrylic dough is ready for
processing.
After the dwelling time, it must be kneaded for approx. 30 seconds. The processing time at approx. 21°C is approx. 30-40 minutes.
In viscoplastic consistency FINOHIT HOTBASE is added to the prepared ask
and pressed.
The pressing pressure must be maintained for approx. 15 minutes.
Secure the ask in a clamp for polymerisation.
Polymerize the acrylic BH in the closed ask with a clamp for 20 min. in boiling water (or in the pressure pot at 95°C). Allow the ask to
cool to room temperature in the stirrup, then
deask in the usual way
9.3 Production of splints
9.3.1 Preparatory work
Produce a plaster model (cast) and block out with suitable materials
Model the splint in wax as desired. Next, make an
impression, create ow channels, and remove wax.
Separate the surface of the plaster model using suitable materials according to manu-
facturer’s instructions.
9.3.2 Processing
After adding the powder to the liquid, FINOHIT HOTBASE is homogeneously
spatulated in a mixing cup for 30 seconds.
After a dough dwelling time of approx. 10 min. the acrylic dough is ready for
processing.
Mold the acrylic onto the model and close
the ask. Then x in the clamp and press. In viscoplastic consistency FINOHIT HOTBASE is added to the prepared ask and pressed.
The pressing pressure must be maintained for approx. 15 minutes.
Secure the ask in a clamp for polymerisation.
Polymerize the acrylic BH in the closed ask with a clamp for 20 min. in boiling water (or in the pressure pot at 95°C). Allow the ask to
cool to room temperature in the stirrup, then
deask in the usual way.

9.4 Finishing the material
After polymerisation, the splint is lifted
from the model and nished using suitable
instruments.
Silicone polishers (square-edge or knifeedge wheels or cylinders), tungsten carbide
burrs and diamond instruments are suitable
for nishing. Pre-polish with sandpaper or pumice powder.
The polymerisation time in a pressure polym-
erisation device is 15 min., at a pressure of 2 - 5 bar and a water temperature of 45°C.
9.5 Polishing
The material is polished with goat bristle
brushes, polishing paste and soft cotton
wool discs. Careful surface nishing and polishing is
necessary for an optimal result.
9.6 Repairs
Repairs can be made with cold-curing polymers according to manufacturer’s in-
structions. Before applying the acrylic dough, the fractured surfaces must be roughened,
cleaned and wetted with monomer. The
polymerisation time in a pressure polymeri-
sation device is 15 min., at a pressure of 2 - 5 bar and a water temperature of 45°C. Please observe separate manufacturer’s
instructions.
