European Council Directive 2002/96/EC on The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE Directive) imposes a ban on the disposal of old household electrical appliances as unsorted municipal waste. Old appliances must be collected separately and sorter in order to optimize recovery and recycling
of certain components and materials. This allows reducing environmental pollution and has a positive impact on the human health. Crossed „trashcan” sign on the product reminds the client of his obligation of a special sorting. Consumers should contact with local authorities or retailer for information on dealing with used electric and electronic equipment.
