Product: Ferm Compressor
Type FC-710, Art. nr. 231710
Ferm, Genemuiden, The Netherlands
1. TECHNICAL DATA
This is a directly linked 1-cylinder compressor in mobile design. This compressor is also equipped with a reducing valve, a automatic shutdown and a quick coupling.
Sound pressure level 83,8 dB(A)
CAREFULLY READ THE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE YOU USE THE COMPRESSOR!
2. SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES
BEFORE USING THE COMPRESSOR:
1. Place the compressor in a well ventilated, frost free area.
To obtain sufficient ventilation and cooling the distance between the shield and the wall needs to be at least 50 to 60 cm.
2. The following points need to be checked:
- do the voltage of the engine and the engine safe guard, if any, correspond to the mains voltage (appliances for a mains voltage of 230 V can be connected to a mains voltage of 220 V without any problems);
- an earthed mains connection (wall socket) needs to be used;
- are the mains lead and the mains plug in a good condition: solid, without any loose ends or damage;
- the pressure reducing valve may not be copletely closed so as to prevent damage to membranes;
- the oil level with help from the gauge. The oil level should be within the area indicated by both marks on the gauge, when the compressor is placed level.
-before use the air tank needs to be empty.
IMPORTANT: To prevent damage to the motor windings as a result of voltage variation it is advisable to mount an engine safety switch.
WHILE USING THE COMPRESSOR:
1. Do not use extension cables which are too long.
IMMEDIATELY SWITCH OFF THE COMPRESSOR IN CASE OF:
1. defective mains plug, mains line or damage to the mains line;
2. defective switch;
3. smoke or bad smell caused by scorched insulation.
3. INSTALLATION
The compressor needs to be placed in well-ventilated, frost-free area. To obtain sufficient ventilation and cooling the distance between the shield and the wall needs to be at least 50 to 60 cm.
4. OPERATING THE COMPRESSOR
- The mains switch needs to be in “OFF” or “0” position before the mains plug is connected to the mains voltage.
- Bij switching the switch to “ON” or “1” the compressor will operate.
- Always keep the mains lead away from moving parts of any linked up air-pressure equipment.
-With the use of the reducing valve it is possible to adjust the air pressure by hand. By pressing the reducing valve the chosen position can be locked. However, do not close the reducing valve too much, in order to prevent damage to the membranes.
5. MAINTENANCE
The mains plug always needs to be taken out of the socket (the mains socket) during maintenance or cleaning activities. Never use water or other agressive liquids to clean the machine. Clean the machine by brushing it with a brush.
PERIODIC MAINTENANCE OF THE COMPRESSOR WILL PREVENT UNNECESSARY PROBLEMS!
Oillevel
The compressor comes with a special test oil, that must be Replaced after about 100 hours of use. Check the oil level from time to time, using the oil gauge. When the compressor is level and has not been used for some time, the oil level should be within the area indicated by both marks on the gauge. The oil must be replaced after every 1000 hours of use. Use compressor oil API CC SAE 40 rather than motor oil. If the compressor is

used in temperatures below 0°C, use API CC SAE 20 oil.
Every month:
Clean the air filter.
Every 1,000 working hours:
Refresh the oil Carefully clean the outside of both the compressor and the engine, to ensure an efficient cooling.
Condensation :
Regularly, i.e. several times a week, drain condensation from the air chamber, using the drain cock situated on the underneath of the air chamber.

1. TECHNISCHE DATEN
Schalldruckpegel 83,8 dB(A)
LESEN SIE DIESE GEBRAUCHSANWEISUNG GUT DURCH, BEVOR SIE DEN KOMPRESSOR BENUTZEN.
2. SPEZIELLE
SICHERHEITSVORSCHRIFTEN
BEVOR INGEBRAUCHNAHME DER KOMPRESSOR:
1. Stellen Sie den Kompressor in einem gut gelüfteten, frostfreien Raum.
Für eine optimale Ventilation und Kühlung muß der Abstand zwischen Schutzkappe und Wand mindestens 50 bis 60 cm betragen.
2. Kontrollieren Sie folgendes:
- stimmt die Anschlußspannung des Motors und eventuell der Motorsicherung mit der Netzspannung überein (Maschinen für eine Netzspannung von 230 V können problemlos an eine Netzspannung von 220 V angeschlossen werden);
- benutzen Sie einen geerdeten Netzanschluß.
- sind Netzkabel und Netzstecker in gutem Zustand: stabil und ohne Knicke oder Beschädigungen;
- Vermeiden Sie zu lange Verlängerungskabel.
- um Schäden an den Membranen zu vermeiden, darf das Druckreduzierventil nicht völlig geschlossen sein;
