1. General
Thank you for choosing our portable FENNEK grill. Included in the scope of delivery are: 1 rear wall,
2 side walls, 2 base plates, 1 coal grate, 1 grill grate, 1 handle, 1 cover plate, 1 assembly instructions, 1 Aluminum case for
storage.
Please verify the completeness of your FENNEK grill prior to its first start-up. We do not accept any later complaints.

3. Assembly and start-up
Properly clean all parts prior to first use, in order to remove any potentially existing machining residues. It is
recommended that FENNEK be started up with charcoal and properly heated through, before the grill is used for
the first time to cook food.

Once assembled, position FENNEK in its aluminum case on a level, clean, and heat-resistant surface.
Remove the coal grate and put up to 4 lighter cubes into the combustion chamber.
Put the coal grate back on and ignite the lighter cubes with the help of a BBQ lighter or extra long matches.
Add the desired amount of charcoal or briquettes. (Fill height upper edge of the lower ventilation slots)
Once the embers have reached the desired temperature, attach the grill grate, and place the food on top of it.
Attach the cover sheet, if it rains or if you want to reflect heat.
Warning: FENNEK may only be used for grilling and heating up food, such as meat, vegetables, or fish. Improper use may lead
to bodily injury or damage to property.
4. Additional features
Handle: The handle also functions as a bottle opener, and its bottom piece can be used to scrape off any debris on the coal and
grill grates.
Aluminum case: Functions as an underlay to protect the base from heat and dirt. The fold-up lid allows for additional wind
protection.

Warnings
Risk of burns
• Cover sheet and grill grate may only be adjusted by using the included handle.
• Only use adequate flammable material made of wood fiber, wood wool / wax, or kerosene-based fire
starters. Do not use fuel paste, as it may leak and cause burns. Do not use other highly volatile fluids such as
spirits or gasoline to ignite charcoal.
• Do not intend to move FENNEK while in use and if not entirely cooled off.
• Any grease or juices that drip down on the hot charcoal can create flames.
• Detach the handle after each use; never leave it attached to the grill grate.
• Do not move or touch FENNEK until all charcoal or briquettes are completely burned out, all embers are fully
extinguished, and all parts are cool.

How to deal with fire
• In the case of burns: Immediately cool off burnt areas. It is recommended to see a doctor. In the case of
higher-degree burns, call emergency services (emergency number varies from country to country).
• Never have a barbecue in the woods. FENNEK may only be used outdoors and in designated barbecue areas.
• Please keep in mind that there is always the risk of flying sparks that might cause bodily injury or damages to
property.
• It is highly recommended to not start a fire or a barbecue in extremely dry weather conditions. Always
comply with the applicable fire safety regulations.
•
Never extinguish embers with water, as this might damage the sheets and cause shooting flames. Always
allow embers to burn out, or extinguish them with sand. Always transport FENNEK in its aluminum case.
Other information
• FENNEK is intended for outdoor use only. Never operate it in enclosed rooms.
• FENNEK may only be used for personal purposes; any use for commercial purposes is prohibited.
• Never operate FENNEK under the influence of e.g. fatigue, alcohol, drugs, or medication.
• Keep children and animals in a safe distance away from the grill.
• When in use, a distance of at least 3 meters has to be maintained between FENNEK and any combustible
materials. Furthermore, never block any emergency exits, doors, or similar exits.
5. Maintenance and care
It is recommended to regularly clean FENNEK, in order to avoid any grease deposits, which could lead to grease fires. Do not
clean the grill until all charcoal or briquettes are completely burned out, all embers are fully extinguished, and all parts are
cool. It is recommended to roughly clean all parts by wiping them off with paper. The parts can then be put into the dishwasher
for proper cleaning. Before the next use, please ensure that there are no residues from cleaners. Please do not clean the case
with pan scratchers or abrasive cleaners in order to avoid scratches. Caution: Parts can have sharp edges.
